I'd like to ask for prayer for my brother-in-law (Dennis, age 36) who was just this week diagnosed with leukemia. This has come as quite a shock to all of us. He had been feeling tired lately (for 3 weeks or so) and went to the doctor on Tuesday, but none of us suspected this.
He has five children - ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and 15 mos. He's married to my younger sister.
The type of leukemia he has is called acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a very aggressive form but it also responds very well to treatment. Please pray that the cancer will not grow rapidly nor spread to other parts of his body, and that treatment will go well and be successful, if that's the Lord's will for him.
Thanks so much for lifting him, my sister, their children, and the rest of our family up in prayer. My sister feels like she needs to be two people right now in two different places (in the hospital with her husband and at home for her children). Right now we're doing our best to care for her children so she can concentrate on Dennis and his recovery.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
Thoughts and prayers!!!

Prayers for your family at this difficult time. May God surround them with His love and his healing. May they seek him as their source of strength. God bless and guide the hands that care for Dennis. (And also bless the hands that care for those little ones! Big job at this tough time!)
Father Lord we pray for the full recovery of Dennis, may You lay your all compassionate healing hands on him and heal him. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Lord, have Mercy; Christ, have Mercy; God, have Mercy.
O God increase their faith for this trial! Grace, grace, and more grace come down upon them and be in them and working through and all around them! Send helpers, O God, along with The Helper. May they be claiming Your Promises and testifying to these children to Your Goodness even in our sufferings! Grant new friends, and many workers! Grant extra strength to meet the extra demands, O God! Grant babysitters, cooks, cleaners, drivers, nurses, encouragers, prayer warriors, healers! Grant Christ in the midst of the storm and remind them constantly through many manifestations that THOU ART FAITHFUL AND TRUE.
Our Father, Who Art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name.

praying hard...
I'll be praying.
Chances are that your brother-in-law will be okay. APL has about an 80% "cure" rate when the proper treatment is received.
