O Lord, King of the Universe, master of the winds and the rain, be with those this day who are facing the hurricane's wrath. Succor those who are in fright, be with those who are trying to save lives, open the hands of those whose generousity is needed to help.
O Lord, Master of the wind and the rain, be with those, and if possible, let this storm weaken.

I join in the prayers for those in the path of Katrina and those that have already been affected by her.
Prayers for Louisiana, Alabama and Fla Panhandle. I haven't ckd the weather lately and Tampa Bay was caught yesterday in the outer band, some rain and wind. Hurricane parties used to be the norm. These strong storms are about evacuating, not partying. Florida lost seven or eight lives when Katrina was just a Cat 1. (some hit by falling trees) May they rest in peace.
Thanks for the thread, I just got on to see if there was one before I went to church. I know people who pray were already praying but it never hurts to remind everyone.

I'm very happy to see this thread. I think we will see God's mighty hand move against the hurricane if people pray. I pray in agreement with the above prayers & ask Almightly God to be merciful and to cause the forces of Katrina to fizzle out before more people are hurt.
Just got back from Church...Our pastor, who has never been in a hurricane doesn't understand how devestating these storms can be. He did tell me to trust God, and I do, which is why I am offering up my prayers to help those there.
