John Paul II Makes a Rosary Appeal
10/3/2004
ATICAN CITY, OCT. 4, 2004 (Zenit) - John Paul II capped a beatification Mass by inviting Christians to recite the rosary.
The Pope made his appeal today in St. Peter's Square at the end of the Mass in which he proclaimed five new blessed.
"On this first Sunday of October, month dedicated in a special way to the Virgin of the Rosary, I invite you to recite this beautiful prayer, imitating also in this the new blessed," the Holy Father said.
John Paul II referred explicitly to Mother Ludovica De Angelis, one of the newly beatified, and "her devotion to the holy rosary, which she always had in her hands," when he greeted pilgrims from Argentina. The Italian nun had been a missionary in that Latin American country.
The Pope highlighted the importance of the Marian prayer when he convoked the Year of the Rosary from October 2002 to October 2003.
The Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Oct. 7.

Dear Mother Mary, this touching variety of titles shows your interest in all
the States of the Union and their inhabitants according to heir special
needs. In it we want to tell you how much you mean to us and how close you
are to us all, to our mountains and lakes, to our towns and villages, to our
homes and our hearts. We sum up all your titles in one when we call you HELP
OF CHRISTIANS, because, as by His love for all men Christ your Son makes
them all Christians and brothers unto Himself, He entrusts them all to you
as your children. Amen.
Here is a Byzantine Rite version of the Hail Mary:
Hail, Mother of God, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb. For thou hast born Christ, the Savior and Deliverer of our souls.
Wonderful. The call has gone out to fondle beads.
Or better yet. Hail Mary full of grace, help me find a parking place. :-)
From a moron's perspective, I'm sure that's what it looks like.
Your remarks are of the Catholic bashing sort here. May God give you wisdom as well as a little bit of tolerance.
Now begone!
Pingaroo!
"It is fitting and right to call you blessed, O Theotokos: you are ever-blessed and all-blameless and the Mother of our God. Higher in honor than the Cherubim and more glorious without compare than the Seraphim, you gave birth to God the Word in virginity. You are truly Mother of God : you do we exalt." Dear Invincibly,
I'd expect such silliness from an 8 year old, but not from an adult. Please take such juvenille silliness somewhere else. Uncalled for mocking remarks such as what you write sadly show that you did not receive any raising from your parents about showing simple respect for other Christians'religious beliefs.
Thread bump...
OT a tad.
What are the names of all the rites of Catholicism? It could make some interesting lessons on Sunday.
Do all the rites have the Rosary?
Thanks
