Husband Michael Schiavo to Do Some Image-Polishing - FROM THE FRONT LINES AT VIGIL

Husband Michael to Do Some Image-Polishing

Watch out! Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, is going to be making the rounds of the national press during the next week. The purpose of this is to portray Michael as and reinforce his image as the victim of unfair attacks, and as being solely motivated by his deep care for Terri and his desire to carry out her wishes to be killed.

The first stop of this train will be his appearance on Monday night's "Larry King Live" show. Larry King is slotted to have Michael on for a full hour, unopposed by anyone from the Schindler family. I think that I can safely predict that this will be a virtual love-fest between Michael and Larry. No similar invitation has been extended to the Schindlers, which seems to me to demonstrate where he is coming from regarding Terri. And, as the Most Intellectually Dishonest Media Personality In America Today [TM], he can be counted on to ask only fawning softball questions of Michael.

Michael has claimed to be in hiding due to death threats against him. This claim is almost certainly part of his effort to acquire a more sympathetic image. For a man in hiding, he is acting mighty peculiar: He has been seen in the last 24 hours at a local shopping mall and restaurant.

You can also expect, now that the ACLU and Euthanasia organizations have pledged to enter the fray on Michael's behalf, that the drumbeat portraying him as a victim and noble-minded humanitarian will only increase. They want to cast Terri's case as a "right to die" issue. To do that they will do everything in their power to portray Michael as the heroic figure, challenging us narrow-minded extermists who want to interfere with his "rights".

Michael's attorney, George Felos, has a well known affinity for the pro-Euthanasia movement. This movement's adherents have a fascination, one might almost say a fetish, with Death. They seek to widen the acceptable boundaries within which society will find death acceptable. To forestall that effort, we must be vigilant against their attempts to coopt the language of rights and compassion.

Have they actually started an investigation, then?

And this begs the question:

If it is the truth, that Terri, upon viewing a movie of a comatose patient, said she would not want to LIVE under such circumstances, was the SUBJECT of the movie a person who was PURPOSEFULLY and MALICIOUSLY BEATEN by an irate husband.

For many of us, that might change things....ie

the drive to get well enough to point your finger at the perp.

Dynamite, if true.

I wish someone with high standing would interview her.

Maybe someone can track down the alleged paternity suit/child support business while they were still married, if this is true.

You know, these newspapers are afraid of liability and may be helping to suppress unsavory aspects of this case.

Is there some way this can be investigated in Washington?

If there was abuse, something should be done about it. It would be so hard to prove so many years after-the-fact.

I was simply passing on information, not trying to especially convince anybody of anything. It belongs out there...preponderance of the evidence and all. It could help lead to getting some more questions answered...or at least help in asking the right ones.

This has been asked before (whether Medicaid puts Terri under federal protection). I've been watching for a reply, have you had any before?

If he fathered another child while married before Terri's collapse I think this is very important because IMO it shows that all was not well with their marriage. I feel it is much more significant than what he did afterwards.

IMO, there are too many big players involved. . .

I can understand that sentiment, however, having a genuine celebrity attorney, of good character who has the polished savvy to present a powerful case in the press would add a GREAT DEAL OF BALANCE.

I get the feeling felos LOVES the publicity he gets. It would be nice to have someone on the front lines for the Schindlers, drawing attention to the FULL STORY.

This felos is a monster.

That's like broccoli attacking parsnips.

I hope we can get documentation on this, and I wonder if the Schindlers are aware of this...if true.

This is thin ice legally. If Kathleen does not want unwanted messages, why did she send her full name to the newspapers?

Republic, I HAVE her last name AND email address. Peyers Patches is the one who first discovered the letter and alerted me to it. We are both in touch with Kathy and Dee at this time. I am just trying to be careful of what I post. I don't want to make them the focus of any undesirable attention. There are some nasty players in this game.

Oh I agree. I was just saying that I don't think the foxs are going to investigate the hen house unless they have too. Any CLs thinking taking the job, that you know of?

Just talked to peyers.

Kathy knows the Schindlers-right?

Get in touch with the Schindlers and have them call Sean and Glen Beck and arrange for Kathy to be interviewed on AIR. This is the best way to get it out there right away.

Kathy can state that the newspaper would NOT publish her letter.

No, I haven't had a reply but I've posted several times to different threads. One poster did post the Federal Regulations and then I think several others made phone calls to Medicaid for suspected fraud. Other than issuing an appeal, I have to rely on memory and ask some of those involved.

Who has the posted information regarding Federal regulations for Medicaid? This appeared after CNN reported that Hospice had paid Terri's bill for three years. Michael returned Terri to Hospice from the hospital and placed her on Medicaid, per his attorney.

"Have they actually started an investigation, then?"

Yes. I believe I pinged you. I know it is hard to keep up on all the posts. Just in trying to send Kathy some of the links, I realized just how many there were, and I didn't even send her all the ones that I personally had been following because there were so many. It is no wonder I haven't been getting much sleep. LOL1
