MEXICO CITY - Mexican federal lawmakers yesterday bemoaned Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger's election as California governor and issued a stern call to the novice politician to respect the rights of Mexican migrants in North America's largest state. "This is something about which Mexican migrants should be very concerned," said Rep. Carlos Jimenez, secretary of the foreign relations committee in Mexico's lower house of Congress.

I'll bet Arnold is quaking in his boots. The Mexicans who are here illegally need to go home!

Schwarzenegger, who migrated to the United States from Austria in 1968, supported Proposition 187, an initiative that was passed by voters in 1994 that denied services to illegal migrants. It was later tossed out by a federal judge. No Schwarzenegger Immigrated the the US in 1968, he did not come here for SS benefits and free healthcare.

Even ex-President Jimmy Carter joined the chorus of critics, remarking at a news conference during a visit to Mexico City on Tuesday that Californians would be better served if Gray Davis had stayed in office and Schwarzenegger stayed out of politics Shouldn't he be building houses for Mexican immigrants or something?

"We aren't trying to interfere in the internal politics of the United States, but the new governor should know that whatever violation or setback to the rights of Mexicans living in California will be denounced in the Mexican Congress." In other words, "unless you violate your oath of office from the 'git-go' we will say bad things about you. So take that!"
Again, what part of "illegal" don't they understand? Oh, yeah, it's Mexico - "illegal" is a way of life - and the main source of income for them.

"left-leaning Democratic Revolutionary Party "
Classic phraseology.

There is something incredibly arrogant and wrongful when another nation WARNS the United States of America against ENFORCING its own immigration laws.
This takes it into the surreal.
Hope Arnold simply sends a simple, direct reply.
In the United States, we are bound to follow our rule of law. I intend to do just that.

Arnold should inform the Mexican government that it is time for them to straighten up their own house so that so many Mexicans do not have the urge to flee it.

Have you noticed recently that the term "illegal immigrant" has been replaced by "migrant"? Pretty soon they'll be "surprise guests" or something.

I consider it UnAmerican to denounce US political leaders to a foreign government. It only complicated US foreign policy by encouraging foreign countries to interfere in the internal affairs of the United States.

Mexico warns Arnold to be fair to migrants
Mexican federal lawmakers yesterday bemoaned Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger's election as California governor and issued a stern call to the novice politician to respect the rights of Mexican migrants in North America's largest state.
Rights to what? Freedoms enjoyed by US citizens and legal immigrants?
"......The very discriminatory message that he has delivered at certain times against Mexican migrants is not something that encourages us. It's totally the opposite."
You find it discouraging that you are being told that America is NOT for your taking?
The left-leaning Democratic Revolutionary Party was proposing a nonbinding resolution warning about the risk of the "Terminator's" election and announcing that it will be monitoring the new governor's politics when it comes to migration issues, Rep. Francisco Mora told the government news agency Notimex.
"We aren't trying to interfere in the internal politics of the United States...
Yes you are!!!!!
but the new governor should know that whatever violation or setback to the rights of Mexicans living in California will be denounced in the Mexican Congress."
What are you going to do? Declare war?
"Politics is being converted into a regretful circus of terrible clowns,"
Like the local politicos in Mexico who are corrupt or are involved with dealing drugs to the US?

WTF is he doing press conferences in Mexico?! I don't care for the guy much, but this is assinine! He's a former president of THIS country, his press conferences, if any, should only be here.
No, I don't mean that he shouldn't make public remarks while abroad, but being part of another country's press conference activity just doesn't sit well.
