Well, these drugs ARE bad for your health in the long run. Mentally and physically in most cases.

Also, what if she gets busted and thrown in jail for 5 years for this? Even consider that? Prescription fraud is a serious felony.

Will she be better off then?

Ot the family may know about it and may be, unwittingly or not, enabling the abuse.

Very simple, if he was innocent and not involved, he would simply say so.......

Agreed. If he was totally innocent, THAT is what anyone would say.
I am not convicting him here, but by NOT saying "I am innocent", he was most probably doing some drugs.
He should at least take an extended vacation to deal with his mdical & legal problems.

He should just issue a blanket apology and move on, something akin to "I shouldn't have introduced social commentary in a football game, I apologize to anyone I may have offended", and move on.

I actually have more respect for Rush sticking to his guns. Look, I don't agree with the comment (Kordell Stewart and Quincy Carter come to mind as two examples of black qb's that have been reamed by the media), but it is a defensible position.

Didn't his wife leave him recently?

You must be thinking of the maid, who recently left Rush for $400,000.

*adjusting my tin foil hat*

If I were Rush, I would already have had a crack team of drug sniffing dogs all over my house checking every nook and cranny for a big stash.

Who knows if this is not some sort of an orchestrated long term setup using with the maid to destroy Rush? The maid had access to all of his house. Who knows what she may have planted under some obscure floorboard if she were looking to set him up?

I have a colleague who works in high profile civil-litigation (tobacco-type) suits, and does "expert" testimony. Talking is the WORST thing you can do. For depositions, you are instructed to answer in single words, if possible. NEVER elaborate, lest a single word be turned on you. So while to an untrained legal ear it does look suspicious, I can see where his attorney said, "If you say one word about this substantively, I'm outta here."

All very true.

If Rush has hired Roy Black or another lawyer, the first thing the lawyer would need to do is to review the case (or at least talk to his client). The next thing the lawyer would do would be to find out what they have and if what they have is accurate. This takes time. The lawyer doesn't know what the cops and prosecutors have, if they have anything at all.

So far, all the lawyer has is what's been in the media. Whether it's true, false or somewhere inbetween is something the lawyer has to investigate. It's the lawyer's job.

But the #1 thing a lawyer would tell his client to shut up.

That's just another red flag among many.

Look, if someone makes an allegation that you are buying illegal drugs, and you are *completely* innocent, why not just say, "it never happened, I am not involved, or, this is not true".

Sorry, this story has been made much worse by the "no comment" remark.

Again, no one is interested in the football story, and he knows it.

I'd bet the rent he is involved in an illegal act, and there is probably some evidence to support this. JMO.

This whole thing seems pretty damming.

Third, people in pain will tell you the pain is a "real bad problem"; finding a solution to that pain is a much better state of existence.

People with chronic pain can get painkillers legally, via a prescription, so this is a non-issue.

What we're talking about is a case of someone becoming addicted to painkillers and continuing to use them AFTER the condition causing chronic pain has passed, using pain-killers to get high.

Drugs will be to Rush what potato is to Dan Quayle.

I can't ever remember saying "RUSH SAID" fill in the blank I listen to rush limbaugh because it is fun and he has a perspective which I agree with. His radio popularity is unaffected by these allogations. Even if the media assassination continues people will still want to listen to what he has to say. Advertisers only care how many people listen, not necessarily the background of the personality.

You do not respond to media charges that are not defined. Espcially in a situation like this. I can tell that you have not been in the public sector. You DO NOT respond to charges unless they are specific and official.

I am sure that Rush's attorney (if he is a good one) advised him NOT to get into a p*ssing contest with the liberal media.

Now can you PLEASE not convict a man without any proof whatsoever.
