Again with the reading comprehension problems. I did not say you were demanding to be informed. I said you were demanding to not be informed.

Not reading comprehension, but a typing error. That was a typo, but I guess you had your mind made up, like you do with Rush.

I’m done with you. Ignorance is tolerable, but you’re also boring.

When you snap back into reality and consider the situation a bit more logically, let us know. In the meantime, ramble on about the world according to dead...

People in pain will do what they need to do to relieve pain. There is nothing bad or shameful about it.

It is if they do it with drugs that cause them long-term physiological harm.

Again, all I can go by is what lawyers say, and even if you say, "there's nothing to the story," that can be manipulated even if you are innocent. I've seen these lawyers in action. You do a Sgt. Schultz: "I say Nooooothink."

"If the stories are true and he denies it, he will enrage the prosecutors and open himself up to a perjury rap. Rush should follow his laywer's advice and keep quiet until he knows what the authorities have on him. And it also give his investigators time to dig up dirt on his accusers."

I did not suggest that he deny it if it is true. I suggest that if the story is not true, that he should have simply said so, in one sentence, then move on.

The only time you get in trouble by denying something outright is if you're guilty of it. If you're innocent, you simply say so, but you say nothing more.

That Rush did not do this seems to indicate to me that he has something he doesn't want to say. He can't admit it, obviously, on his lawyer's advice.

But...if he's not taking these prescription drugs illegally, no harm can come from a simple denial.

However, I find it hard to believe that Rush could be an addict since 1998 without some people close to him noticing and intervening.

Didn't his wife leave him recently?

Rush-"I'll tell you everything there is - well - maybe more than you want to know."

He may have been addicted at one time....

As I said several times before, all he had to say was his attorney has told him not to talk about it and move on.

Why? Because that would satisfy you?

Please.

What you are missing is he HASN'T BEEN ACCUSED OR CHARGED WITH ANYTHING. There is nothing to deny and he would be stupid to talk about ANYTHING specific at this point. I am sure that his lawyer has already advised him of this point.

Rush is a media creature. He's being accused of things in the media. If he has no involvement in this at all he should respond in the media with a blanket denial. There's no way it could be used against him in a criminal trial (he's not under oath on his own program).

Rush supporters can fantasize about "rope-a-dopes", etc. but it looks like there is some substance to the accusations. I didn't believe it at first (especially the part about cigar boxes) but, without a blanket denial today, I think he has a problem. I've already written about he can turn this into a positive. Americans are very forgiving when it comes to people taking responsibility for their actions.

a single vicodin can go for $20 in the open market; "oxys" can cost upwards of $40 for one pill.

Vicodin on the street typically sells for $3 or $4 a pill. Lorcet, which includes a bit more hydrocodone, typically sells for about $5. Oxycontin, depending on the strength, typically sells for $8-$15.

They are wonder drugs. Not for "partying," but for relieving pain, both physical and psychic.

Marta? I don't think so. In fact I remember him talking about here in the last few days, something about his cats.

That is why there's no such thing as drug "abuse."

What are you on?

It may not SEEM like "drug abuse" to the user. Ask other family members about their opinions about the supposed non-abuser's altered perspective....

I have always differentiated between drug users who are committing crimes against others to support their habit. We pay taxes to keep ourselves safe from that kind of anti-social dangerous behavior.

Drug use hurts everyone involved, always. I'm not excusing it and don't condone it.

But there are nuanced differences between every crime and every situation.

Some want blanket changes that cover every instance. I don't agree and think that is naive and dangerous.

There have been articles posted on this forum about how Norway etc., is considering changing their drug laws because it has led to rampant crime and extremely high costs to pay for the abusers. Costs paid for by those not committing the crimes. Which is always the case.

The responsible take care of the irresponsible.

I understand you have a different opinion. We will have to agree to disagree. I see naunces in the world and don't believe things are as black and white as some would paint them.

Perjury only comes into play if you're in a court of law. He can deny it now till the cows up home, it won't make a bit of difference in a trial.
