Well, these drugs ARE bad for your health in the long run. Mentally and physically in most cases.
Also, what if she gets busted and thrown in jail for 5 years for this? Even consider that? Prescription fraud is a serious felony.
Will she be better off then?

She buys pills from those who have them. They relieve her pain; they allow her to live a life; they have brought relief from what was quite visibly a devastating condition.
If she gets "busted" and jailed, it would be because society sucks and has immoral laws. It would not be because she is doing anything wrong.
