Start your engines.
Careful...thought police are on the prowl.
;^)
Then stop taking all drugs - no matter how bad the affliction you are hearby ordered to take no drugs.
Dont call me in the morning you rascally totalitarian.
Whaddya mean by dat!
I'll tell you what part bothers me (not that you asked).
When JR says, "I do not support the federal war on drugs," it implies that he might support smaller state-by-state wars on drugs. If this is the case, then JR's view ignores the spirit and plain wording of our state constitutions--as well as the federal constitution which guarantees a republican form of government to each state.
The state constitutions declare, like the federal constitution declares, that free republics are granted only limited powers and that the people reserve all other rights.
The socialistic idea that the people have granted the government the power to collectivize their bodies and meddle in their medical affairs is equally as repugnant to the spirit and plain language of their state bills of rights as it is to the federal bill of rights.
The telling tell is just how orgasmic the Elite Media are at the possibilities. They are not even trying to hide their jubilation.
It isn't more than allegations. There "appears" to be audio taped evidence? What does the audio tape say? Who is saying it? What kind of quality is it? Have the voices been authenticated? The e-mails (at least some) were published. How do we KNOW that the e-mails were written by Rush? Did she have access to Rush's computer? The grammar, from the quotes I've seen on FR, is fairly sloppy. Who said they took a polygraph? Who gave it? What were the questions asked? Who interpreted it?
The media can say anything they wish. All things reported are not true.
Perhaps he doesn't. If he gave the maid cash and the Rx, who knows who she bought the pills from? (I believe Rush has said several times that he doesn't have insurance or that he doesn't use the insurance). If she bought them illegally, then he would have taken illegal pills.
If he came out and said, "I never bought illegal prescription medication" the media would focus on the "I" and the "bought". Did he send someone else to buy them? Did someone give him pills for free?
There are very few ways to win here.
Do yourself a favour and buy the magazine. I'm not your research assistant.
And how you work out the woman could have been using his computer is beyond me. Madison was joking, in case you didn't get it. She quit her job in July 2001. He was still emailing her in May 2002. Did she climb in through his window to email herself?
It occurs to me Rush could come out and admit this and you'd still say it wasn't true.
Last I heard, no-one had presented any evidence- just tall tales.
How Clintonian it all sounds.
To me, at least.
To be blunt, Rush knows if there is any truth to these stories, and IMO, he should lay out the truth and let the chips fall where they may. Again, IMO, there is a world of difference between popping pills, legal or not, and mugging old ladies to support a heroin habit.
I am inclined to disbelieve the whole thing as a smear job, and will until I see evidence to the contrary.
Great response...magazines never print things which aren't true, do they?
It occurs to me Rush could come out and admit this and you'd still say it wasn't true.
No, I am simply giving Rush the benefit of the doubt. At this time, being familiar with HIS credibility, I don't automatically believe people whose motives and truthfulness are not known.
It's far easier to be cynical. I could waffle around like most people here and say, "The story IS kinda fishy but....." and cover my ass if Rush ends up being a liar. I've made a deliberate decision to stand up for him. I think he has earned the benefit of the doubt by his past behavior.
But Rush's own remark today that when he does give his side of the story it might be too much information for some people (I'm paraphrasing because I can't remember the exact quote) suggests there is some substance to the Enquirer's account.
The couple have been granted immunity from prosecution. I wonder why the state attorney would offer them that kind of deal if they were just lying.
People who have been given immunity and then run to the tabloids and sell their story? Don't the police have a problem with that? (I don't know that they do, but I would hope the police frown on this behavior) The information may be a mix of truth and lies. They may be giving information about people other than Rush.
But Rush's own remark today that when he does give his side of the story it might be too much information for some people (I'm paraphrasing because I can't remember the exact quote) suggests there is some substance to the Enquirer's account.
ROFL!!! It suggests whatever you WANT it to suggest. It could also mean that Rush assumed he had people who hate him listening (reference to hackers of the dittocam at the beginning of the program....could be supporters who are cheating the system, could be haters hacking in, I dunno) and was referring to THEM "hearing more than they want to know".
See how easy it is to speculate?
Looks like Rush forfeited the game...
I made that point on one of yesterday's threads. Someone said I was making up stories. Minimizing exposure sure sounds like a reasonable explanation. Another reason for stocking up is in case your source disappears or gets busted. This is particularly true with overseas pharmacies, which start up and shut down like lightning bugs at dusk.
I try very hard to be a righteous person. I have to work at it sometimes. I posted earlier today that I had expected Rush to cancel out on his show and announce he was entering rehab. After listening to him today, I had a decision to make. Do I have any reason to believe these allegations are true? And I decided that, at this time, I really don't. There certainly IS a lot of smoke. Perhaps there is fire, MAYBE it's a raging inferno.
At the end of the day, I have to face myself. I'd be much more ashamed of cutting and running on a "friend" when the chips are down than standing steadfast and perhaps being a fool.
