"I won't raise taxes," says Schwarzenegger, "Except for the Indians."
NewsHax wire -- Vowing to join a long line of European settlers who have made and broken every treaty signed with America's native inhabitants, Arnold Schwarzenegger is promising to rewrite Proposition 5, a law approved by a majority of voters in 1998 granting Indian casinos the right to conduct limited gaming on their sovereign lands.
"We're not surprised at all," says a spokesman for the Pala Indian tribe outside of San Diego, "Every treaty we've ever made with the white man has been broken to our disadvantage. Our only real question was how long the settlers would wait this time around." (more...)
When asked about the apparant contradiction between pledging not to raise taxes yet simultaneously threatening to raise taxes on Indians, Arnold replied with the only answer that explains the disparity in his stated positions, "They are not real people."
Schwarzenegger has been leading a calvary charge on Californias airwaves recently with ads stating that Indian gaming casinos pay no taxes and how he will hold them accountable. However, Indian casinos pay the state over $130 million a year in revenue sharing, and almost all of the individual revenue split among the tribes is subject to both federal and state taxes.
Nonetheless, Arnold is refusing to back down. "I said I stand for the rights of immigrants. Native Americans are not immigrants, Europeans are immigrants, and that's who I stand for."

Hey Arnold. There are 850,000+ nonprofits in America. If you take a good look at a lot of them they should pay taxes.

Nonetheless, Arnold is refusing to back down. "I said I stand for the rights of immigrants. Native Americans are not immigrants, Europeans are immigrants, and that's who I stand for."
Hasta la vista, Busty.

I support their Independence and right to participate in our process, but if this humor is really on target, maybe he could just betray them again and balance the budget...naaaaa, that's the joke, he's just going to raise mine.
