AN DIEGO (AP) -- Gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he has "behaved badly" to women and offered an apology Thursday.

Schwarzenegger's remarks, as he kicked off a four-day bus tour of the state in the final days of the recall campaign, came after a Los Angeles Times story published Thursday in which six women accused him of sexually harassing and groping them.

At the end, the blue curtain behind him parted, and there was....his tour bus! He stood on the step waving as it circled the convention center room, and exited
right out onto the street.
Rick Roberts had promised us a surprise...it was

The news reports on the drive home were full of Arnold's apology, but actually being there and hearing
it in person, and getting the feel from him and from the the crowd meant a great deal.

I have to add that Arnold supporters come in all stripes, shapes, sizes, colors and ages and it was a sight to behold.

I don't recall anyone branding him a pervert, just that his behavior was inappropriate. There is a difference. And with one of the allegations being in 2000, seems like he should know better, doncha think?

What does "bad, playful behavior" mean, exactly? Is grabbing a women's butt playful? He may have thought so at the time. Some people think it's fun to this day. Is trying to take off a woman's swimsuit playful? Hey, sounds like fun, no?

The question is, what *didn't* he admit. He needs to point out which incidents in the story were false.
