AN DIEGO (AP) -- Gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he has "behaved badly" to women and offered an apology Thursday.

Schwarzenegger's remarks, as he kicked off a four-day bus tour of the state in the final days of the recall campaign, came after a Los Angeles Times story published Thursday in which six women accused him of sexually harassing and groping them.

Nobody knows. He wasn't specific. That's the problem. Everybody may be thinking the worst. Even if he only made two off-color remarks in a woman's presense in his whole life, he basically copped to the possibility that he tried to rip off a woman's bathing suit, and grabbed a woman's rear end.

He should rebut, pricesely, what is inaccurate in the article. If anything is false. Otherwise most people will take it to be true in it's entirety.

Or he could have just said "no comment" and likely have been voted in on Tuesday by a landslide.

He gave the article credibility, he opened the can of worms, he has to deal with it now.

Unless and until a woman wants to step up in public and give a credible account that convinces me he is some kind of sexually harassing brute, I'll remain skeptical.
