Bustamante is a 32? Nah! He's a 38 C if I've ever seen one.

looks like they decided the fun and games were over and now is the time to release the real poll. They can then go back later and point to this poll to show how accurate they have been in the past.. LOL.

Let me be the first to say it "If only Arnold would drop out, then Tom could maybe get a few more votes".

The LA Times sees the tidal wave coming and is now trying to wiggle out from under the slimey, dishonest, propaganda poll they published on the 12th!

This is due to the debate. Arnold, for all intents and purposes "won" the debate. It looks like, as I expected, expectations for Arnold were so low in the debate, that he ended up smelling like a rose even though he wasn't "great", he was more than good enough. I would expect the Dems, if they have it, to start releasing the real dirt now, if there is a time to be desparate, this is it.

Schwarzenegger had support from 40 percent of likely voters in Tuesday's poll, Bustamante had 32 percent and Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock had 15 percent.

In the Sept. 12 survey Schwarzenegger was slightly behind Bustamante -- Bustamante had 30 percent, Schwarzenegger had 25 percent and McClintock had 18 percent.

Looks as though Tom's still surging, just in the other direction. But, man, he's still surging! Surge, Tom. Surge!

So, maybe the LAT is starting a bit of course-correction so that, when the election results come out, they won't be knee-slappingly, wheezingly, laugh-till-you-cryingly off.

McClintock seems to be experiencing what the military might call a "negative surge."

I guess the Times fired the lady that did the whitewash for the last poll.

So the two liberal polls (CNN and LA Times) independently agree that Arnold is at 40% and that the recall passes either by 63% (CNN) or 56% (LA Times).

But here's where it gets really interesting. With the exception of the San Diego Tribune, all of California's major newspapers have endorsed voting "no" on the recall.

In other words, California's liberal newspapers are clearly outed as being out of touch with mainstream Californian voters.

To be blunt, these newspapers have been caught trying to steer public opinion rather than just reporting it.

Better yet, their efforts seem to have failed.

Life is good.

California is driven by celebrity. It was over when Arnold entered the race. Y'all should sit back and enjoy the show! You cannot overcome the voting proclivities of the pierced Jiffy Lube attendant.

(Would that it were otherwise....)

I swear, as much fun as it has been to watch this circus from across the country, I will be glad when it's over. Tom or Arnold. Arnold or Tom. Enough already. The DEMONRATS are the enemy. Our fire and wrath should be concentrated on THEM.

Cool!

As for that huge McClintock 'surge', he went from 18 percent to 18 percent...

From the L.A. Times story. I would link but sometimes I just don't feel like making it easy to reach the Times.

"... Support for Davis has slipped among key parts of his political base -- Democrats, women, moderates and liberals among them..."

"... Summing up the view of many voters was poll respondent Gladys Taub, a Democrat exasperated by the state's giant budget shortfalls..."

"... Gov. Davis has been doing a terrible job, and I just want to get rid of him..."

"... For Davis, a key challenge in the final days of the race is to bolster support among Democrats. Despite his aggressive efforts to woo union members, Hispanics and other traditional blocs of the party, the poll found 27 percent of Democrats support the recall, up from 19 percent in the last poll..."

"... Other signs of trouble for Davis: 54 percent of women support the recall; last month, 54 percent of women opposed it. Support for the recall also grew among the elderly, who typically turn out to vote in large numbers. While voters 65 and older were split on the recall last month, they now favor it, 54 percent to 46 percent. Even Los Angeles county voters, crucial to the success of any Democrat in a statewide election, have swung in favor of the recall, 53 percent-46 percent. Last month, they opposed it by a 58 percent-38 percent margin..."

"... among likely voters overall, more than three out of five oppose the driver's license bill. Moreover, more than four out of 10 likely voters say a candidate's support for the measure would make them less likely to vote for that person..."

"... For Bustamante, the poll results are bleak. Only 41 percent have a favorable impression of him, while 58 percent view Schwarzenegger favorably, and 62 percent view McClintock in a positive light..."

So what happens to BustaBoobies when Arnold wins? Is he still the Lt. Rat?

He was on the outs with Gay Doofus - imagine his power and authority as Deputy Assistant Junior Lt. Terminator.
