Debate Terminates Arnold

Tom wins Recall Debate. Camejo a close number 2. Bustamonte way back in third. Arnold and Ariana locked in death wrestling match dead last.
Tom crushed the competition today, well everyone except for the green party guy who kept repeating something that for some reason no one could counter - that the rich in California pay a lower tax rate than the rest. Humm. Some of the knockout hammer slaps issued by Tom where, for example, the ONLY statement opposing Illegal immigration- " .. we have millions willing to abide by our immigration laws but, Illegal Immigration is tantamount to cutting in line. Another crushing blow by Tom was:" People are taking their families and companies from beautiful California to the middle of the desert because of the Davis administration. Wow. He was the only one who even pronouned the words Pro Life, all the others where silent, except for Bustamonte who stated he was pro-choice. And then putting the last nail in Arnolds coffin, Tom stated in his closing remarks: He was the only one to pledge - No tax increase and also to cut spending.
Arnold showed complete disrespect to the debate process. Constantly interrupting Bustamonte and Arianna and engaging in Personal attacks on both of them. (Clearly Arianna attacked him personally also.) Arianna stated it well, "Ok Arnold, lets see which person with a foreign accent can speak loudest." If he thinks he'll be able to shout down all of them in Sacramento, he's nuts. During one of the Arnold/huffington skirmishes, Adriana told Arnold that is much ballyhood Help the Children Program that Arnold helped pass was nothing but a publicity stunt because it was not funded. Arnold then cut his own throat by replying that the bill had a spending trigger that would only activate once the budget woes were taken care of. Well, that means that his precious little bill will never get a cent! If he felt so strongly about the chlildren he would not have supported that spending trigger.
Its clear all the media is for Arnold. He was the only one given time after the debate on all the channels to explain how he felt after the debate. And Arnold may have realized he had not done well when he said that he hoped to work with Tom in Sacramento. That's if Tom will have him.

Camejo's rant is a common one among leftists. Believe it: The rich pay more in taxes. Way more. The top 5% pays more than half of all income taxes in California.
Camejo's dishonest rhetoric lumps Social Security retirement fund contributions and Medicare insurance payments and unemployment insurance payments into "taxes"--even though they are benefits tied to the payor.
Again, it's a common Leftist trick, and fundamentally dishonest.

Both Republicans did us proud. Look at what the other side offered up...a screaming harpie and a harpooned whale.

Its Possible. I love everything that Tom stands for. Arnold, however, will win. More likely that the race ends: 1 Arnold; 2 Bustamecha; 3 McClintock. I think it obvious that McClintock will not and should not get out. His continuing assures that Davis will be dumped. Tom knows this. This is a "win / win" for the Republicans. We take the governorship and Tom gets strengthened for later--ideal.

You're wrong. Take a look at the post debate poll on
http://billoreilly.com. Its a cakewalk if you can believe it. Both Republicans acquitted themselves admirably tonight. Its the socialists who looked and acted like born losers. At least that's the general consensus - Arnold will probably win the election in October and the other thing is even the Lefties never bothered to defend Gray Davis. The game's over.

Tom wins Recall Debate. Camejo a close number 2. Bustamonte way back in third. Arnold and Ariana locked in death wrestling match dead last. Were we watching the same debate?? While Arnold wasn't as articulate as Tom, he kept on message and let his values and personality come through. Arianna and Camejo were one note. Arianna=Bush and Arnold suck, Camejo=tax the rich. Bustamonte was so condescending to Arnold and Arianna. Arianna even called him on it once.

If Tom wins this election, I will faint! I promise to, honest!!! It would mean we have an entirely new state, which would be a good thing, but I would just get the vapors and plum faint dead away! :-)

Freaky eyes!
Please. I'm a potential Arnold voter, but one with a lazy eye condition. Every time I see the more committed Arnold supporters make verbal or visual reference to the irrelevant fact that Tom's a bit cross-eyed, I reach for the "Tom" hole in my punch-card ...

Again, I agree with you tonight on your view of the proper tactics (that's twice!).
But I didn't quite pick up the take of Arnold "going after" Huffington so much as playing off her. Perhaps that will shake out in the wash, and maybe it hit one of my own particular blind-spots (we've all got them)...but I thought Arnold took her on as little as it was possible for him to do.

McClintock is great but he can't even win a poll on FR. So how do you think he'll do in Commiefornia? Great point.

A **very** interesting proposition, but, sadly, if one employs capital to WIN, as opposed to gambling, one cannot wager on your proposition, even as creative as it is, without some considerable odds.

I agree. All arguments about Rhinos aside, the real winner tonight was the GOP. The two R candidates made a classy team when compared to any of the others. I believe that if either of them withdrew the other would pick up the majority of his votes, resulting in a Republican victory. But, one of them has to drop out or all is lost. Which one will it be?

According to FNC (one of their reporters in CA) and Alan Colmes, Issa is set to endorse Schwarzenegger in the morning.

Yup. Was a foregone and telegraphed conclusion, UNLESS Arnold did horrible in the debate, and Arnold didn't. Issa wants Tom to be IN the Arnold administration, not the man who prevented it.

Sure. If McClintock wins I'll send FreeRepublic $100. If he loses you do.
To: TomasUSMC
LOL, I don't think so. Better start practicing saying "Governor Schwarzenegger," that is what is coming in less than two weeks.
To: TomasUSMC
I do think Tom did a better job at the debate and I would rather see him as governor... (here comes the but) BUT I think it's time we respect that the choice of the majority of the Republicans in this state is Arnold. I've already mailed in my ballot for him.
