ATF Night Hosted by California Assembly Nominee John Brantuk Telephone: (562) 698-2870 email: John.W.Brantuk@BrantukForAssembly.org www.BrantukForAssembly.org
What is "ATF Night"? No, we're not the federal gun control agency. We are a social gathering of Second Amendment and liberty activists and leaders who meet monthly to discuss firearms-related issues over (optional) adult beverages and dinner, and afterwards, those so inclined may choose to step outside to continue discussions while enjoying a fine cigar - hence the name.
Originally hosted by The Lawyers' Second Amendment Society, the meetings have continued thanks to the leadership assumed by John Brantuk, Republican Nominee for the California State Assembly ( see www.BrantukForAssembly.org )
You don't have to be an activist to join us - newcomers and the curious are always welcome. And admission is always free.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| "1ST DEBATE" - from the San Francisco Chronicle 09/04/2003 On many of the issues Wednesday night, McClintock stood alone. He opposed abortion, vowed never to raise taxes and called for fewer restrictions on gun ownership, since "people have a fundamental right to defend themselves from violent predators."
His strong conservative stances likely won him some votes, possibly at the expense of more moderate Republicans such as Schwarzenegger and Ueberroth.
Republican analyst Tony Quinn said McClintock stood out from the pack of other hopefuls.
"Arnold's problem is they've got to get rid of McClintock -- and this hurt him," he said. "This gave McClintock the attention he won't get otherwise."
Pollster Mervyn Field agreed. "Arnold was hurt tonight," he said. "The question was: If he'd have been here, would he have been hurt more?"
"McClintock was forceful, and remarkable in his contrasts on positions" from the others.

Additionally, California is hurting Bush and the entire countrySo, we should not look out for the interests of our state, only Bush's? I love our President, but I have a feeling that if he demanded the 1st born of everyone in this country be slaughtered, some idiot here would be saying, "But, it's our guy, so it's ok".

Well, with all due respect, that isn't going to take much, considering that the banquet room only holds 70 people.
I just called San Gennaro Cafe.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!
A 70 person capacity? Uncanny. Makes me think McTicktock wants it to "appear" he has a crowd overflow numbering in the hundreds.

"Outlawing guns is not the right method of eliminating the problem. If you outlaw guns, people will still have them illegally. In Europe, they're outlawed everywhere. They have very strict gun control in Italy. Yet the Pope was shot. They have very strict gun control in Germany. Yet you see pimps shooting one another." They all say nowadays that they don't want to outlaw guns, but actions usually go otherwise. When the dems in the state assembaly or state senate send him Jack Scott and Don Perata's latest suprise, would Arnold veto it? Does he have the spine to do that? From all the answers I've seen from him on this issue with 'loading indicators', and the outspoken anti-gun advisors he has like Rob Lowe and Dick Riordan(who wants an outright ban).
California's law is already stricter than the Brady Bill and there is no loophole in California's gun show sales anymore.
There's no gun show loophole to begin with. That's a media myth created by VPC.
If you honestly believe that McClintock has a chance despite ALL the polls, then go for it.
I have little faith in polls. After seeing the polls and election results the last 10 years. I really do think he has a shot. Polls can't measure turnout. Caller ID also affect polling since a lot of people screen their calls. I've also seen internal polls off by 20+% at times, and that's not even the ones released to the media.
So I do think McClintock has a chance. And if there is a candidate I agree with 1% of the time(Cruz), 30% of the time(Arnold), and 85% of the time(McClintock), and they aren't third party, then I will certainly back the one I agree with 85% of the time over someone I disagree with much more than I agree with.

Post 263 makes it look like Arnold's gun grabber groupies are in their stalking mode, so look out for disrupters at the dinner. Good luck on your event!

Poor Tom, the man who writes his favorite book is the economic advisor and strong supporter of Arnold.
I am so glad that Arnold is running against Bustamante. It gives one such hope to figure out this fiscal mess.

I am so glad that Arnold is running against Bustamante. Yep, Bustamante is for more gun control, banning "assault weapons", trigger locks, the Brady Bill, and closing the "gun show loophole".
By contrast, Arnie is for more gun control, banning "assault weapons", trigger locks, the Brady Bill, and closing the "gun show loophole".

Cheers (and waving goodbye to California)!

You live close by, Roscoe, why don't you say you'll go. I'm sure that would increase the turnout.

When asked by Sean Hannity if he supports "the Brady Bill or the 'assault weapons' ban or both," Schwarzennegger replied "Yes, I do [unintelligible] support that, and also I would like to close the loophole of the gun shows." He repeated that stance on "The Larry Elder Show," and added that he would also like to see laws for trigger locks.

To take a position anything but that would have been suicide in California. You can be 'for' something, yet change it to your vision. Had he made the severe, or intolerant, remarks that you'd like would ensure further democratic (and neo-puritan) demagogic demeaning of of an honorable man.

I realize that quoting him upsets his followers, but would you mind explaining what the "loophole of the gun shows" is?
If you can't, I'll understand.
