A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....09-06,07-03....Week in Review

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Mama_Bear, dansangel, dutchess, Aquamarine, FreeTheHostages ~

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review the features of the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello there now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. ~ Billie

I posted this on Weinie's thread, but wanted to re-post it here:

It is tearfully that I write this....

Words cannot say how sorry I am. Weinie was (is) a part of the Finest family. When one of our own passes, it leaves us all with a deep sense of loss. When it is one of our four-legged companions, the feelings of loss and grief are only magnified.

I'll never forget when she accused me of being a squirrel....I was ROFL.

Weinie, say "Hello" to Cookie and Ralph for us. They are some of the finest black and white felines you will ever come across. They won't hiss at you, scratch you or bite you. I promise. They'll play with you and tell you some of the tallest tales about .45MAN man and me - just don't believe everything that you hear. And please, tell them that we miss them terribly.

(((((((lonestar))))))))))) and (((((((Weinie)))))))
Love,
dansy and .45MAN

Rumor has it that Weinie has been elected President of Rainbow Heaven, all that campaigning paid off :-)

I just got word that when Weinie strutted onto the Rainbow Bridge, they knew there's a new top dog in town!

Just beautiful, ((((Colleen))))

The vet sent us that verse when we lost our dear 16-year-old Cookie (cat) last year. It touched me so much.

Oh, Colleen, I read this earlier when you posted it on "Weine's Thread", and now I am crying again. It is a beautiful tribute for our Weinie. It is especially emotional for me because there is a dog in that graphic who looks much like my precious yellow lab, "Prince". He is waiting for me on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

As Billie said, most all of us know what it is like to lose a beloved pet. We can identify with lonestar and our hearts hurt for her. It is like we have all lost something precious today.

Thank you!

She has already divided the critters into two groups--"Those with me and those not with me."

Know there are many who will appreciate it being here, Colleen, and I thank you.

Surely Weinie knows how many lives she impacted - she and lonestar - and will forever be in The FR Annals as the Epitome of Freeper Activist.

He might have been short on legs, but was a mile high in stature, eager and willing to do his part for America.

All our lives are the richer because of him, and we can imagine those who were there from our respective pasts to greet him!

{{{Special Hugs))) to Scrapper and Prince and Willy Boy and Poncho and Kitsuellenkatzenbergerburgerlaruskyborskovitch (daddy had a great imagination..:)) - and Shadow and Casey and Nuff Kitty and Snuggles and Tuffy and Striker - - that's most of 'em, anyway.

To live long is to love long - they gave so much back to us .....

I got the following message with a request that I pass it on to all the Finest.

One of the first new friends I met was Buddy Clinton. He is one of the sweetest dogs you'd ever want to know. But does he have some tales to droop some tails!

I have organized a support group for Buddy. Hey! Wouldn't you want to hear more?

Buddy spells b*tch, "H-I-L-L-A-R-Y."

Oh how cute. Thanks for posting Weinie's message. I have a feeling we haven't heard the last from her...she's just writing from a different place.

Makes sure she looks up Dutchess (my namesake).

Lori. Congratulations on San Diego State's almost victory against Ohio State. They did great! (and had the OSU crowd VERY nervous!)....I must confess I was sort of cheering for San Diego towards the end...the OSU/Michigan rivalry is deeply ingrained.

And to my Texas friends...can I rub in Michigan's 50 - 3 victory over Houston???? YES!!!

Hey The Thin Man...Got to sleep in today and tomorrow. Have to go back to spelling school on Monday at 8:00 a.m.. Thanks a lot. I really liked the easy life. Hate this accountability stuff! Geesh...

Love- Giz

P.S. That being said...am so saddened by the passing of my newest found great friend Weinie. I know she will be a shining star above for all of us. Just hope when she sends messages...that they are gramatically correct!

"Kitsuellenkatzenbergerburgerlaruskyborskovitch

My goodness - are we not fortunate?!
Everyone should have at least one..:))

When I was nine, we moved from Coral Gables to Melbourne, Florida. As we were finishing packing, a kitten wandered through the open door into the kitchen of the old house. As fate would have it, a scorpion emerged from under the sink and bit the kitten, paralyzing her.

Daddy was not a cat lover, but even he could not stand to just leave her, so I was allowed to line a doll cradle with a blanket and take her with us.

It was a chilly November, and in the new house, she loved to lie in a big straw basket by the fireplace, and in the day when the sun was warm, be outside in it. Eventually she regained use of her legs.

Won over, Daddy gave her an improbable name, as he was wont to do.
You might remember he convinced me at 8 that "gorillas" were fighting in Asia and Europe, and I pictured them in my mind - huge hairy types in full uniform...:))

Gertie the Gullible Girlilla, I am.....
