MSNBC | 8/28/03

Posted on 08/28/2003 12:13:59 PM PDT by Merovingian

MSNBC had an item on NEW rumblings about HRC running in 2004.. It was in conjunction with more on Wes Clark also getting serious about a run..Mentioned something about a 'high level mtg' that the OTHER Dem candidates were informed of.... Ickes has formed a 'soft money group' which could benefit HRC, and, again, some high level mtg about the possibility of her running. ..Nachman and Bill Press will be discussing this SOON on msnbc...tune in NOW.

He's worse than McGovern. George McGovern had actually fought in a war. This guy is so far left that he makes Lenin look like a moderate.

I think Wesley Clark has long since squandered most of the inherent goodwill the electorate would otherwise accord him for his resume. He's now known more as an out-of-touch, hard-left has-been than anything else. All we'd have to do is play back tapes of his dozens upon dozens of proven-false "quagmire" accusations her made on CNN during the War in Iraq to show that his reputation is in tatters.

That's quite a far-flung generalization about soccer moms. Some fit that description but many don't. And I disagree with you on the impact of 9-11. Parents do realize how their children could be affected. The biggest worry I have about terrorism is my kid. And she's in college.

Are you a soccer-mom? (Note: being a mother with kids who play soccer does NOT make someone a soccer mom).

I think there are many people who voted for Gore who would not consider voting for Hillary, including many Dem women.

That's true. I don't think she would carry democrat male union members either.

Dean has such high hopes right now, decent money too boot. He would have to open up on Hillary %110 , she would get all of the press for weeks to come. That said, I don't think she is going to run in 2004.

This is my greatest fear, and the only way she can win.

That's my fear as well, and yes...it's the only way she could ever win.

For me it's not too much of a stretch to see it playing out like `04 did....ending with another Floriduh food fight.

What I'm afraid of is a Hillary/Weasley Clark ticket. There are enough idiots in this country to make this a plausibly viable ticket. If Beelzebubba could pull it off against a popular Bush in '92 Hitlery, Clark, and the info-entertainment industry can manufacture it again in '04 (possibly). If she wins, pray for the Rapture to occur before January 20, 2005...

But you just undercut your own point: the soccer moms were attracted to Clinton in part sexually because he was everything their husband wasn't---"exiting," "hip," "powerful," and playing around on his wife.

Hillary will receive benefit for NONE of those traits. I won't say no soccer moms will vote for her, but they will automatically assign many of those traits to Bush, not her.

Plus if Dean is the nominee the Clintons would have one of their own as the VP and thus would still have a voice in things. It is so obvious that I cannot believe I did not think about it before.

Exactly. Everyone else is in denial. This is the plan. Wesley Clark is the Clinton's Frankenstein. They created him. They promoted him on an unprecedented scale. He did great evil for them in Waco and Serbia, remained loyal, and told no tales, like Harold Ickes, who we now see again as central to this effort. Clark's swift move up the ladder is evidence of reward for keeping secrets. He is a ruthless, psychologically unstable man with extreme delusions of grandeur and a disturbing ease with brutality (Waco, Serbian civilians). But the public is not generally aware of this and thus fits the bill as an ideal counterpoint to Hillary.

The bluster on this forum is naive. They will make a formidable pair.

It's not JUST the soccer moms. There are a whole bunch of old women out there who think the Dem Party is still run by Roosevelt...including my mother.
