What garnered ridicule was his "didn't inhale" line. Exactly. It was the vast depth of his dishonesty that gave me acid indigestion with every word from his lying lips. It took 2 years of counseling to pull me out of it...

Did I say that? Nope. But, now that I think about it, whats with you folks in Ill excluded Jews from the control circles? No, no, no. Not control circles. Crop circles. We keep our Jews out of our crop circles, here in Illinois.

Any question on why ole Arnold is a social liberal OR how he fits in so nicely in the Kennedy family? Women, booze, some drugs ... what more could a Kennedy ask for as a husband? Oh, forgot, a foul mouth who openly brags about his exploits. How nice. Even at 29 he should have known better. I knew better at 29 ... .

BFD, Arnie is caught on tape talking about an orgy. He will still win in a landslide.

Nonsense. Clinton was nailed in a lie just before the primaries. He was on tape with Jennifer Flowers and he denied it to the press with a straight face. He confirmed the worst of his character. I agree. But remember the rumors that Al Gore had smoked dope while a reporter in Nashville? IIRC, it was also insinuated that he had sex with a woman associated with the Hell's Angels while doing research for a story. That generated some righteous howls of indignation on FR, despite the fact that years had passed since the incidents allegedly took place.
To: 68 grunt
...This is a good thing for the party. No more 'intolerance' issue.
I absolutely agree! Break it down, steal the only ammo the evil dem's have. But... having excoriated Clinton for the type of behavior to which Arnold admits, how will Republicans explain giving Arnold a pass, without opening themselves to accusations of applying a double satandard - something of which they constantly accuse Lieberals?
If I were a Demonrat, I would be salivating and licking my chops at the prospect of Conservatives endorsing Arnold, given these "revelations"... All further criticism of Clinton for his "indiscretions" will be countered simply by pointing to the Conservatives' acceptance of Arnold. And - particularly in the mind of the average Oprah-and-NFL droid - it won't matter one whit that Arnold's "indiscretions" were in 1977 and Clinton's were more contemporary, that Clinton had his "fun" while on the public payroll, etc. etc. - all that will stick is that "Clinton is no worse than Arnold"...
Just give Car-Vile and his Hollywood media goblins a go at it, and watch what happens...

17??? What a pu$$. When I was 17 I was smoking dope and having mass orgies with random chicks... wait that was Arnold, not me. Disgusting. I waited until I was 18....

The differences have been remarked upon, more than a few times, in this thread. Must it be repeated?

You have it backwards.
It's the approval of Clinton's behavior that will let Arnold off the hook. At least he was single and it was the late 1970's. I could describe frat parties even worse! lol

It's not like he was smoking dope and having affairs in the White House or as a married man or as the governor or as the President. I think we should hold those in political office to a higher standard WHILE THEY ARE IN OFFICE! Frankly, I could care what they did before they took office or after they leave office unless it was paticularly egregious.
I fail to see your double standard.

Sorry, Torie, but I have to disagree with you, here. Running for state controller doesn't have the same media attraction that runnign for Governor or Senator would. The media probably ignored that election. In that environment, McClintock had a chance. Not in a big league race.
McClintock's a good man, but he can't win this race. If Arnold dropped out, the center would go to Bustamante and perhaps to Davis. He might win against Boxer next year if he has Arnold in the governor's chair to help him out. That I would like to see.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
