Hillary to decide after Labor Day whether to run for President in 2004?

Decisions, Decisions
Respected writer and columnist Richard Reeves is reporting that Hillary Clinton will be deciding next weekend on whether to run for President in 2004: Hillary and her advisers, including her husband the ex-president, her money men and pollsters, will meet shortly after Labor Day -- Sept. 6, I hear -- to discuss whether or not she should go for it. It is a decision that has to be made earlier rather than later because of November and December filing deadlines for the early primary elections that will almost certainly (and very quickly) identify the 2004 Democratic nominee. What?! She couldn't be running, could she? I thought she had ruled out running in 2004?
Yeah, right.
As predicted in this space many times (I think the earliest is here), Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the Democratic nominee facing President Bush in November of 2004.
Keep your eyes on California. If Gray Davis has any chance of hanging on, you can be certain that Hillary will be there, and will use her success in "saving" him as a springboard to (officially) launch her campaign. I am sure she would love to wait until just before the January contests, but the filing deadline for the New Hampshire primary is November 21, and this has to be done by the book. (Especially if you plan to reference a "stolen" 2000 election, an "illegitimate" impeachement, a "right-wing" recall effort - or if you have ever been accused of improprieties in the past.)
Look for mild rumors to start circulating if this Sept. 6 meeting takes place. Then, once the California recall is out of the way October 7, we will start to see voluminous coverage of this - perhaps with the NH registration couched as "just in case" and Thanksgiving floated as a "time to talk this over with my family."

I hope Hitlery does run in 2004, killing off her presidential ambitions once and for all. Ridding the nation of the scourge of Hillary will be W's greatest contribution to American history.

She has an even larger problem right now by the name of Howard Dean who is picking up steam in the DemocRAT base. He is getting contributions, a lot of support and IMO, Dean is not going to step aside for the evil one. He has already taken on McAuliffe and told him to step aside.
Just think the DemocRATs themselves are going to tell the Clintons to stay out of 2004! I could be really wrong and she will come in at the last minute and run, but IMO it will split the DemocRATs which is fine with me. If she enters at the last minute, it is going to get really nasty which is good for our side.
If Republicans have the dirt on Hillary, imagine what Dean will do with what he gets his hands on all the dirt about the evil one! This could get really interesting! What happens if she loses in the primary? That would make my day!

What happens if she loses in the primary? That's one reason she won't run for President. She WILL run as the VP, though. That way, if the Democrat ticket loses it wasn't her fault; plus, she doesn't have to spend her money in the primaries and she still ends up on the ticket.
Mark my words.

We will simply need to write letters to editors of all major newspapers that she and her co-president pardoned Puerto Rican terrorists in a bid to garner that voting bloc for Hitlery in NYC. These terrorists murdered Americans on OUR soil and were pardoned by the Clintons.
It stunk then and there are no words for it in a post 9/11 world.

It is a decision that has to be made earlier rather than later because of November and December filing deadlines for the early primary elections that will almost certainly (and very quickly) identify the 2004 Democratic nominee. She will never run in a primary, first of all because she would be afraid of losing, and secondly because then she would have to campaign for too long.
No, her plan will be to engineer a deadlocked convention, with the help of her stalking horses, Dean and perhaps Wesley Clark, and then have the convention turn to her in desperation and nominate her by acclamation when the aforementioned candidates release their delegates to give her the prize.
At that point she only has to run a two month or so campaign while the "mainstream" media and the Hollywood crowd fawn over her, while she dodges debates and fabricates some scandal to flummox the Pubbies.
Then she gets elected, with Dean or Clark as VP, by cranking up the veteran Democrat voter fraud machine and voila!, Her Heinous is in, and we will be wailing and gnashing our teeth.
This is my recurring nightmare......pray that I am wrong....wake me up from this nightmare please!

This is exactly why Wesley Clark is being talked up as a Presidential candidate. Not to be President (at least not now) but to be Hillarys running mate. Think about it. He was #1 in his class at West Point and was a Rhodes scholar. He is from Arkansas (thus a southerner). A retired 4 star general and former head of NATA. Close friend of the Clintons. On paper he is everything Hillary and the Dems are not. To the Dems he would be a perfect VP for Hillary because he is strong where she is weak. If Hillary does not run in 04 and Dean gets the nomination then Clark would be perfect for VP for all the same reasons. The Dems are perceived by the general public as weak on defense. Thus having a retired general as a VP would be a perfect balance to the ticket particulary to liberals like Dean or Hillary. Plus if Dean is the nominee the Clintons would have one of their own as the VP and thus would still have a voice in things. It is so obvious that I cannot believe I did not think about it before.

At the rate her hips are expanding, she'll need a double-wide trailer to haul her along the campaign trail and a come-along to pry her out of debate chairs. I'll watch that.
To: PhiKapMom
She knows that Republicans will never let her win as long as they are free to muck up the Dem primary. One element would be McCain. If he were to decide to challenge Dubya, Hillary just might decide to do it. McCain hates Bush enough that he just might clear the path for Hillary.

There isn't going to be a primary. Lapdog Mcauliffe will beg her on bended knee to run and in dramatic fashion, courtesy of a script from aaron sorkin, she will accept!
She has already started to line the coffers, therefore she has already decided to run.
Now all that's needed is an ideal time to reveal herself. Think about it the dims have been trying literally ANYTHING to chip away at W: WMD's, economy, health care, the environment, Enron, the blackout, overweight kids, etc., etc. All to see what will cause the biggest drop in his numbers.
She is just waiting for the right moment to have the lapdog go on national TV (ALL the nets will gladly give the DNC the airtime) and beg her to accept the nomination and unite the party and return it to greatness. I can just see Katie Couric holding back the tears during the wrap-up!

She promised the people of New York that she would never, repeat, NEVER skip out on her 6-years as Congress critter! Slick promised the people of Arkansas the same thing and then ran anyway, saying it was what the people of Arkansas wanted him to do. She will use the same line.
