According to Lifesite, a Nov. 18, 2002 Associated Press article reported that Schwarzenegger describes himself as "very liberal" on social issues and that "He favors legalized abortion
and gay adoption". England's May 30 Guardian newspaper also quotes commentator Bill Bradley stating, "He's pro-choice, pro-gay rights
"
IS THIS REALLY AN ISSUE THAT FREEPERS CAN SWEEP UNDER THE RUG? SHOULDN'T WE DEBATE IT - UNLIKE ABOTION IT'S SOMETHING THAT STATE POLITICIANS CAN REALLY HAVE AN EFFECT OVER. SHOULD GAYS BE ALLOWED TO ADOPT YOUNG BOYS? IF YOU SAY NO, CAN YOU STILL SUPPORT ARNOLD?

I did not say WHO. I said "what kind."
Imagine a scenario where your "whos" are all gone OR dramatically changed in personality AFTER your demise.
Other that that, do you think all the parents of orphans through the years have been irresponsible people? For that matter, how can an orphan EVER happen, given extended family and all.
But.
They do.

why are there thousands of kids in the foster system?
because they've been taken away from their natural parents for one reason or another, but the state won't let them be adopted by anyone, because the natural parents still have some legal claim.
To: HapaxLegamenon
Exactly.
Incidentally, since this is a special election, will Arnold only keep the office, if he wins it, until the next regularly scheduled election?
If so, then you are a million percent right. He'll keep it a year, all the blame will become Republican blame, and don't be surprised if Davis or even Waters becomes gov. of Calif.

*LOL* I never said that I agreed or disagreed with your opinion. I believe I posted that I was curious as to why so many of the snarling hysterical oppostion to Arnold was from out of staters; and from that you drew you own incorrect conclusions.
Personally I think ya'll just like to hear yourself talk and feel like you are the "most conservative" on the web. *wow* We are sooo impressed.
I will keep my options open as to whom I will vote for, this is more than a vote for govenor; 2004 is coming up soon and we need to have a Republican in office, whether or not you and others think he is a RINO.

I believe you'll find it next to impossible to find a gay group that publicly trashes NAMBLA. If you find that not to be true, I would appreciate references.

If everyone was concerned (as they should be) this board should be overwhelmingly supporting McClintock. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's win at all costs even if it means compromising one's faith and values.

Interesting observation.
I know many on this site have opposed Bush II, because he does not meet their requirements as being conservative enough; seems to be an obsession with them. Control freaks usually have obsessions.

Nice graphics, D.O.
Frankly, I'd like to hear Ahhnowd's positions from Ahhnowd, rather than hearing it from third parties.
I'm pro-life, but realistically there is nothing a state can do before Roe is overturned other than ban partial birth abortions, pass parental notifications and have a disclosure law. Ahhnowd says he's pro-choice, but a lot of choicers support these measures. I'd like to hear more from him.

Nah, social conservatives are the ones who negate any republican gain by their intrusion into private lives, homes, beds and dreams. You reek of the odor of fear. Disgusting odor.Unless California is a very strange State, you cannot legally adopt someone, under the age of majority, without a personal investigation into your personal life. Do social anti-Conservatives--or whatever those who do not respect societal values, want to be called--propose to do away with all background checks of adoptive parents?
The issue here is not intrusion into private lives, but whether the State can protect children from being put into a bizarre home situation. The aggression as to this issue does not come from the Conservatives (the adjective social really adds little, if anything), but from those who think it all right to raise children with a distorted view of life and sexuality, in total rejection of values developed over millennia, where they are likely to be used in the manner that the perverts in Sodom proposed to use Lott's Angelic visitors.
What possible objection can any reasonable person have to pinning a candidate for Governor down on such an extreme issue?
