Prayer request for Sara Grace (a preemie)

I would like to ask all of you to pray for my friend, Marijon's granddaughter. Her name is Sara Grace. She was born on June 6, 2003, 3 months early. She weighed 1 pound 6 ounces at birth. She has been in neonatal ICU since that time. At 2 weeks of age, she had to have a colostomy for perforated bowel. As you can imagine, she has had ups and downs, but as of last week was weighing a whopping 4 pounds! Last Thursday, they did surgery on her to re-connect her colostomy. On Sunday, she developed an infection, and on Monday her heart stopped beating, and she stopped breathing. They got her heart beating again, and she is now on a vent. The doctors say they think it was the infection that caused her heart to stop, but thus far, they have not been able able to determine the type of infection, although they know it's bacterial. She is on two different kinds of antibiotics, and today, 24 hours later, she is trying to breathe on her own, and they are trying to wean her off the vent. The doctors say the next 24 hours will be most critical. I would appreciate the prayers of all you prayer warriors for this precious little girl.

Father, how I thank You that You have sent Sara Grace and Logan here for FReeper prayer, for our hearts are always filled with profound sorrow at how so much of the world views life ...

These tiny little two are trying so hard to live, Lord, and I ask that You pour us out as intercessors for them, that these babies will triumph over the most horrendous difficulties. Cover them with mercy and healing; grant wisdom to all who care for them; may they be witness to how incredibly strong is the will to live, even for ones so little and weak.

You are filled with tender mercy for Your little ones, Lord ... strengthen them and raise them up, that others might see Your glory in Your care, and Your provision. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Update on Sara Grace.

I know I don't have everyone on the ping list. I'm working on it. :-) Please forgive me. The latest word I have on Sara Grace is that she is doing well and responding well to the antibiotics. I don't know much right now, but as soon as I do I will post another update. Thank you all so much for your prayers! We continue to pray for little Logan, too!

We gather in prayer together to offer our prayers and loving concern for this little one, Sara Grace.

Father, she is so very small, and yet so beloved. Please help her during this difficult time while she fights for her life and the opportunity to live with her family and the friends she shall make during her life. Help her to develop perfectly with all systems operating 100% efficiently. Grant her strength and courage. Bless her family. Surround and guide the nurses, doctors and other health care professionals dealing with her case.

Father, strengthen her immune system. Vanquish all microbes and promote the health of her tissues right down to the cellular and molecular levels.

We ask that this be done according to thy will and that our prayers be multiplied to cover any and all little ones and their families who are in similar need.

Sara Grace update: (report from her grandmother)

Sara Grace is continuing to improve. They are now trying to wean her from the vent. Her lungs are better. They have been suctioning them, and it has helped her. They thought the infection had settled in her right lung. She is still on antibiotics and will be a couple of more days before she can have a bottle. Prayers have helped. Thank all of you for your prayers and concern and please continue to pray for her and the others..

May the tears I have after reading the story about Sara Grace, have the tears of the Angels wash Sara's infection out of her little system. Four pounds is encouraging to fight it! Poor little angel.
