Most of the REST of the court is made up of DEMOCRATS Actually, according to the A.P., "seven of the eight associate justices also are Republicans."

"They don't care about civil liberties of ALL Americans, just some of them."
What subset do you have in mind?

You seem quite good at not letting facts interfere with the caricatures they throw your way. my impression comes not from the media, but from hearing moore himself speak on the matter.

Griswold v. Connecticut was wrongly decided in my view. This is the decision that brought the commercial 'right of privacy' (invented in a 1893 Harvard Law Review article) which was intended to deal with the right to one's own name and image, into Consititutional and criminal law. Howevermuch the result, invalidating the CT law, was not bad, the way it was done was the direct precursor, and the precedent relied upon, in Roe v. Wade.

Won't happen. We live in a nation of cowards who fear govt'.
To: sinkspur
Calm down. You look ridiculous. Am I wrong? Does your version of the Constitution have the 10th Amendment torn out?

My plan is to depart and live in a third world country and be left alone. I have two years remaining on my five year plan...main goal is to be financially secure prior to departing.

the Founding Fathers subverted the rule of law and should have been jailed. What do you think God would say should be the punishment for someone who enslaves another because of their race?

I heard that the people that are part of the ACLU are the ones that got beat up in school, the ones that Mommy and daddy did not give enough attention to, and the ones that could not keep a pet because they ran away!
What do they do when they retire from the ACLU anyways.

What's Next will the ACLU now say we have to burn all the churches down as well? Last time I checked, churches were not a branch of the US government. The judicial system is.
Last time I checked, neither were public schools, but it didn't stop them there.

live on TV too, and Almighty God strikes them all down. hehe, now that's reality TV.
To: inquest
Ok, fine. Then I assume the case will be appealed to a higher court to attempt to overturn the ruling.
To: Fred Mertz
Don't go unless you can still Freep from there.
To: ConsistentLibertarian
Ok. You win. The ACLU is concerned only with the rights of individuals. They have no agenda. They care only for the Constitution. They passionately serve the law and have no bias whatsoever. They are beyond reproach. The Constitution AND our Republic would be doomed without the ACLU. We would be in a North American equivelent of Hitler's Germany, or Stalin's Russia, or Pol Pot's Cambodia if the ACLU did not ram their view of a "living constitution" down our throats.
The ACLU has NEVER argued a case that could in any way be interpreted as anything but upholding the Constitution and the rights of citizens to be free of government interference. They remain seated upon a cloud of impartiality.
Happy now?

I've heard (or I should say read) him speak on the matter, too, and he has always stated - correctly - that his actions are in accord with the Constitution, and that his oath to the Constitution must be honored. That, of course, doesn't stop others from mischaracterizing him as saying that his notion of "God's law" supercedes the Constitution.

Does your version of the Constitution have the 10th Amendment torn out? No. Does yours have the 14th torn out?

You predicted this accurately
yesterday . Common sense prevailed.
To: Selmo
The associate justices have indicated they may take action later.
The associate justices will vote 8-0 to remove the monument, and Bill Pryor, the AG, will remove it.

An Old Cherokee describes an experience going on
inside himself....
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.
One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy,
generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same
fight is going on inside you - and inside every
other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then
asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
Stay Safe !
