Two hundred forty one active members and nine commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) abandoned the armed struggle for a separate Muslim state in Mindanao and formally pledged allegiance to the government yesterday.
The ceremony was held at headquarters of the 4th Infantry division at Camp Edilberto Evangelista, in Cagayan de Oro City.
Major Gen. Cristolito Balaoing, commander of the 4th Infantry "Diamond" Division, said the rebels also turned over to the government 140 high-powered firearms, including five 60 mm mortars and two 40 mm M-79 grenade launchers.
According to Balaoing, the rebels who surrendered to the military by batches previously operated in Lanao del Norte and Cotabato City.
Balaoing said the MILF rebels surrendered to the military even before the government and the MILF agreed to reconvene for formal peace negotiations. The surrender was part of back-channeling efforts facilitated by Malacañang.
Among the prominent commanders who yielded to the authorities last June 15 was Commander Guiling Lucsadatu, alias Lucky 7, of the Bangsa Moro Islamic Armed Forces (BMIAF), whose men were operating in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur.
Lucsudatu brought along with him his loyal followers including 44 firearms and explosives ranging from caliber .30 Garand rifles to carbines.
A relative, Commander Mudski, reportedly the major combatant and strike force of MILF leader Commander Axapala, and his loyal followers also surendered to Army troops.
Late last month, MILF leader Amano Gachalia, alias "Aman", along with his 15 field commanders and their firearms also surrendered to Army authorities in Lanao del Norte. Gachalia has served the MILF leadership for seven years.
In Lanao de Sur, Balaoing said that another batch of 31 MILF rebels headed by Commander Mosib Rama, MILFs 501st Brigade Division commander, yielded to the Army authorities in the area.
In Cotabato City, 25 MILF rebels under Commander Tony Sumilalao Sapalon and MILFs Brigade Commander Dante Dindo Adal, also yielded to the government troops and turned in 25 high-powered firearms on June 24 to Maj. Gen. Generoso Senga, Army Commander of the Armys 6th Infantry Division.

I always thought catching them at the bar looked like the better approach. Ah, but then you would have to speak binary language.
You would of course offer to buy them a drink and reach into your pocket, if you find "1's" you can buy drinks. If you find "0's" you....buy nary drinks.

I'm Mr Mom tonight actually. My MILF is going to a girl's party (40th birthday..a MILF milestone)with other moms (one or two are MILFs as well).

Mindinao is the very large island near the southern end of the Phillipine archipeligo. The islands near by are populated by Moros and are traditionally Moslem. There are a few islands a little further south that are claimed jointly by the phillipines and I think Maylasia. (possiby Indonesia).
Mindanao is the home of very large Dole Plantations. Also, the monkeys have no tails in Zamboanga.

I'll look for you, unless I'm MILFing. My MILF logged onto my account yesterday and spent down about 1500 - I need to build it back up, and feel like planting my butt in a chair, pouring some whiskey, and playing about a zillion hands of Texas Hold 'Em at the 20/40 until I either rack up loads or zero it out.....

Call me ignorant, but where exactly is Mindanao?
It's in the south of the Philippine archipelago and the second largest of the islands after Luzon. My dad was there during WWII setting up radio stations for the Coast Guard.

Uh-huh-huh-huh, uh-huh-huh-huh, you said "MILF".

I will look for you. You can run up yer account on 20/40 if you get the cards in a loose game no doubt.
Play tight in a loose game....playing tight in a tight game means sacrificing a lot of blinds ...and waiting.
It's hard to judge players on these fluid tables....so many maniacs. But if someone has a large stack then you know they are either a decent player or they have been there for a loooong time chipping away.

Three things make me lose my sanity - guys who stop to think before posting a blind (even though they've got a few thou in the kitty), newbies who raise without thinking, and those guys at a 20/40 yesterday who kept checking all the way around so I couldn't raise, and I got stuck with a lousy $397 pot on 4 sixes (two of which were my hole cards).
GRRRRRR.....
