Three things make me lose my sanity - guys who stop to think before posting a blind (even though they've got a few thou in the kitty), newbies who raise without thinking, and those guys at a 20/40 yesterday who kept checking all the way around so I couldn't raise, and I got stuck with a lousy $397 pot on 4 sixes (two of which were my hole cards).
GRRRRRR.....

I don't know what rules you play under, but a person checking has never prevented me from raising or going all in.

It helps to be able to study the players behavior (tells) first. I love it when I get nuts and have 2 or 3 maniacs playing. I'm going to get their money.
In a tight game, you have to buy a flop or turn with crap on occasion or everyone will run when you get aggressive.
What I hate is when I bet and raise to the hilt with a great hand that is odds on nuts and somebody pulls the rabbit out of the hat with that one card that gave him the nuts and me knowing the whole time that it was possible yet maybe only a 1-20 chance of it. Those sting and it's worse when it comes from a rabid player.
