Just hours after the Northeastern power grid went down shutting off electricity for 50 million Americans, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took to the airwaves to blame President Bush and his administration's energy policies for pushing deregulation and coddling corrupt power companies like Enron.
"I happen to think that making sure we have a reliable, affordable system of energy is a national priority - and I don't think that this administration sees it that way," Clinton told CNN's "Larry King Live."
"They have continued to try to push deregulation and privatization, and to try to undo a lot of the systems in changes that many of us thought were important and necessary that we tried to work on during the Clinton administration under [Former Energy] Secretary [Bill] Richardson's leadership."
Sen. Clinton also accused the White House of throwing "a lot of roadblocks in the way of [Calif. Gov. Gray] Davis, when he tried to clean up some of the problems that he had with the manipulation of the energy markets by Enron and others."
"So, no," she insisted, "I don't think the federal administration under this president is really focused on making sure we don't have these problems in the future."
Before Clinton phoned in her comments to the King Show, however, Gov. Richardson, now governor of New Mexico, noted that her husband had done little to address the problem during his eight years in office.
"In the Clinton administration, everybody yawned about this, [saying] oh, we don't need to do this. Oh, we don't have a crisis," he told King.

It's too bad the outage didn't extend to DC. I bet there'd be a bill being drafted now if Congress had to go without AC for a few hours.

Who was (impeached, rapist) President when the problems started in California?

Still defending her husband I see.
At least she was smart enough to abstain from saying," The power outage was a VRWC, put in place to blame my husband for being a do-nothing President for those 8 wonderful years."

It's a state and local responsibility. HITLERY should be blamed as one of NY's 2 senators. But she hasn't done a damn thing for NY.

Where exactly was Hillary while her millions of NY constituants suffered through the Bush- induced backout ? Somewhere signing her pile-of-lies book, no doubt. Or, if you believe Andrew Greeley, she was off contemplating her deep religious faith and love for her husband.

It took Hillary and the Dems less than 4 hours to blame Bush for the blackout. What a joke. Bush and Cheney were the "only" people in government talking about fixing the entire infrastructure that is almost antiquated. They mentioned all of this back in 2000 and 2001 after the California energy crisis and how our generating capacity and our transimissions system were insufficient to meet a growing society. And what did the democrats do? They turned it into a parisan debate about energy special interests.
Even after Bush assembled an energy task force to look into fixing this problem, the democrats and media attacked the task force as a bunch of big business interests. Yeah, guess what...energy companies are big business. So what? Since when has big business become a crime in his country. What the democrats want to do is federalize energy the same way they did airport security...and everything else they can. They despise the "private" sector and want as many goverment employees they can add to the federal payroll. When you couple this with their pandering to the environemntal agenda, you had a crisis in the making.
Energy companies are discouraged from investing in infrastructure because of all the red-tape and regulations that goverment imposes on them...and there is no profit to made for their investments. And with the regulations added to the Clean Air Act, older companies are dicouraged from upgrading components as they get punished unless they undergo a complete retrofit, costing miliions of dollars. It's rediculous...you can't even replace or do maintenance on an obsolete or broken part...even if the new part is more energy efficient, without being forced to make changes to the whole system.
The Greens have held up every attempt to impliment new systems around the country. They use the courts, filing law suit after law suit, tying up construction of new plants by suing these corporations, delaying any fix for the problem. And the Democrats are right there with them, passsing laws that hamper any new infrastructure from being constructed. It isn't a coincidence that the areas most effected by these energy crisis (California and the Northeast) are regions totally controlled by liberals.

The bitch & all demwits will not get any traction on this topic either. The looney left is dealing with a different world here in the U.S. since 911. Dirty lying politics will not help them anymore, thank God.

guess she missed the phone call from Richardson, anyone who was paying attention caught her in the lie.
Shes running, I am sure of it now.
What a witch.

Good one, Should have known it would come down to finger pointing at the President. As if he went there personally and shut down an entire grid.
LOL. It reminds me of when parents teach their children not to put a fork in the electrical socket...
That must have been one hugh fork Mr. President ;-)

Hillary Blames Bush for Blackout Many of you already know this, but here goes - the blackout was caused by alien craft (spaceships, if you will) sucking juice from the grid. That's why there's all the finger pointing (it started in Ohio, or Niagara, or Pennsy, or Con-Ed). Fact is, there were multiple craft in multiple areas.
So, why is this happening. Why do they all need so much power at the same time, you ask? Well, it just might be one heck of an interesting "weekend" for Mankind.
What can I do? Step one - obtain tinfoil. Step two - craft into a hat. This is SERIES!
