Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

Hehe, but he will be returning anyway come October....

Major blackouts in big metro areas are absolute nightmares for the people and the people who work for the electric companies.

Where the heck ARE you? I'm in Huntington, and we had no power problems all last winter. (It was down for several hours a couple days in a row earlier this summer, but that was a direct result of storm damage.)
To: utahagen
However, I think that that is such a direct, obvious reason that I am wondering why it took 45 minutes for the word to spread that that's the reason. Maybe it's because they had more important things to do than tell us what had happened.

But then, of course, we won't let him back into the state... You've got THAT right!
Stay safe out there everyone...

This whole "it's not terrorism" thing is a JOKE! They're just trying not to cause a panick. They don't want people freaking out or rioting.
This is absolutely fishy it stinks...nothing is going to convince me there isn't more to this story.
Would you expect the government to come out and say "yup, it's terrorism" if they could at all deny it? They would cause a panick if they did.
They're trying to keep people calm until they get home.
In my view this is a terrorist attack until proven otherwise.

Good thing there is a escape hatch in the roof of every elevator carIs that really true? I thought that was a myth now (kind of like you can always escape a building through the roof.)

Me. But my blow-dryer died. Just pfft, the smoke went out. Around 10 this morning. Talk about delayed reaction. I don't think I'm on that grid though.

Great book!! You're the first person I've seen mention it. How many others here have read it? I've read it. Matter of fact, I recently started re-reading it. I like end-of-the-world stories, for some reason. "Earth Abides" by George Stewart was another good one.
ABC Radio says Bloomberg to address the press shortly. Has not declared state of emergency yet. (Not to jump all over the incompetent boob, but this sure seems like a NYC emergency to me.)

Terrorist attacks are designed to look like attacks, not accidents. As of yet, this does not look like a terrorist attack...as of yet. Heaven forbid, it could be the start of a coordinated attack. </tinfoil off>
