Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

Kudos to Modell's. Today the Eastern sports equipment retailer handed out 2,000 pairs of free sneakers to New Yorkers, foot-weary from walking all over town.

Isn't this how SkyNet took over in T3?

Hey, is this a record for the longest thread?

Very interesting. Thanks for the ping.
I think it would be deeply disturbing, but not surprising to find some AQ sleepers who infiltrated power companies.
Did you see that all the computers at Edwards Air Force Base shut down on account of the computer worm?
We are WAAAAAY too vulnerable.

Edwards shut down
Computer systems at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., were shut down this week as a result of the "Blaster" computer worm.
The desert base is home to the Air Force Flight Test Center, which conducts work on the B-2 and B-1B bombers, the airborne laser, the Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle, the new F-22 Raptor jet fighter, the Joint Strike Fighter and other high-tech weapons.
"We stopped access to our base computer network Monday about 2 p.m. because of the Blaster worm," said Air Force Lt. Col. Kerry Humphrey, a base spokeswoman.
"We don't know how much damage was done, but we're slowly but surely getting our system back on line."

I've been sick all week. There's a weird virus going around floriduh this week. Heat & rain = air full of garbage + red tide on the beaches.

Am I mistaken or did you link me to this page for the "best quote"? Do you happen to know what the best quote was? Your name was in the ping to me anyhow.

Sorry, could never be terrorism. Nobody's policy covers it anymore.

Shhh... you aren't supposed to say that the largest Arab population in America lives in South Eastern Michigan.
That being said, I fondly remember the images of Iraqi-Americans cheering in the streets of Dearborn, after the fall of the Republican Guard, and the toppling of the Saddam Hussein statue in Baghdad.

Everyone be on the look out for Gray Davis. You guys in Illinois don't know where he is? Davis is being marched to the political gallows in California. We'll take good care of him, before he flees California in dishonor and disgrace in October.
Be sure to wave as he flies over Illinois on his way back home to New York. Maybe when he arrives, NY can make him feel welcome by rolling a few brown outs his way, or just flip the lights on and off a few times in Manhattan when his plane lands.

Well, as I posted in the NY page, I walked from 14th and 9th to the (Brooklyn) ferry terminal, only to leave when after 40 minutes, the line along the FDR didn't move. I then took the Staten Island Ferry and from Staten Island, two busses in total darkness (including waiting for a bus at Clove Road, which is a "ghetto" area), until I finally got home around 9:30. The bar in my building was open and handing out free beers and all of my neighbors had an informal block party. Power came back on at 3:30 AM, btw.
Actually, one of the better aspects of the subways not running today was the fact that I got a paid day off from work, which I spent sunbathing in a park near my apartment. No complaints here! :-)
