Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) --Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor who is running for governor of California, said billionaire investor Warren Buffett will be the financial and economic adviser to his political campaign, the campaign said in a statement.
Buffett, the world's second-richest man, has built a fortune buy buying companies through his company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Debbie Bosanek, Buffett's assistant, didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

It's not a good idea to vote for something you don't want. It makes them think you do want it.
I'd vote for a kick in the arse, if the other guy promised me a bullet in the head, and looked to have a chance of winning.
If the vote looks close, vote like you had the tie breaker. Maybe (slim chance, but not zero) you do.
If the vote isn't so close, vote your conscience, like you said.

He opposes tax reform, not tax cuts. They aren't the same, necessarily. "Well, it depends on what your definition of the word is is."
I'm losing respect of socalled conservatives daily by reading this type of stuff. Just admit it, you want to win the election above anything else.

What you would really have is this:
Conservatives=McClintock
Liberals=Bustamonte
RINOs and the starstruck=Schwarzenegger
Definitely a race...a race we could win.
Too bad so many conservatives have fallen for the defeatism that has been being peddled so successfully.
If they aren't slapped up side of the head and awakened, this is not going to be possible.
The first one that needs slapping is Bill Simon.

If and only IF the elcetion was close Arnold vs. Cruz I would vote Arnold.
Get Simon out.
Get Uberoth (whatever the spelling is) out.
Let Cruz and Arnold fight over the same votes. Tom will win.

A united conservative movement would win this thing. But but but...I thought "we" were all rallying around Arnuld Buffet because he's got an 'R' by his name?
I have never, NEVER been more ashamed and disgusted with the naked lust for power that I've seen from movie star fanboys that I've seen on FR and heard on Talk Radio since Arnuld's brilliant announcement-happening.
By the way, this is no appeal to the Left by Arnuld, Buffet manages his finances; http://www.qctimes.com/internal.php?story_id=1016188&t=Nation+%2F+World&c=26,1016188

You say that like it's a bad thing. It is, if, as the poster said, it is put above anything else.
Nothing wrong with winning, nothing at all--but not at ANY price.

Please tell me that you are teasing me. I'm having a bad day with 5th Columnism.

Quite true - voting by my method, like investing and betting the horses, has one fatal flaw.
Predicting is hard, especially the future. And the lame stream media and their polls are no help; an annoyance, a distraction, a diversion perhaps; but no help.

Better than Warren Beatty! or Jimmy Buffett.

people who blindly jump on a bandwagon will end up with what they deserve. I don't know why the Arnold groupies are surprised. Several of us saw this coming.

Part-teasing, part-not.
I do think some of my equally principled brethren would, in politics, prefer a principled loss they can be (key word alert) PROUD of over a partial-win they can DO SOMETHING with.
Hard to do anything unless you win. (I speak of politics.)

Many democrats will vote for Arnold - guaranteed.
Those are votes from Cruz. Rinos and whack jobs will vote Arnold and the others.
That leaves the solid Conservative base and those they convince.
Tom 38%
Arnold 30%
Cruz 25%
Others 7%

It's not impossible. Very difficult, but not impossible.
But it won't work with Simon in.
Certainly he's gotta see the writing on the wall by now.
To: EternalVigilance
Simon and Uberouth both need to back out AND endorse Tom.
No chance with out at least Simon out.

Hard to do anything unless you win. (I speak of politics.) Normally I would agree, but normally is NOT what we are talking about.
Think of it this way, why are Mayor Moonbeam and Willie Brown both giving approving statements of Arnuld Buffet? Kindness?
They know, as we should, that the loans we've been putting in the budget for the past 3 years are going to come due in the next term.
Remember, we aren't the Fed gov, if we don't have the money it can't be put off, it must be paid. We've played games for 3 years, that's coming to an end. Without a sizeable cut in spending (not happening with Buffet) there is going to be a total collapse.
Unless someone with an 'R' in their name has the cover to ask for Reasonable Tax Increase, particuarly for the "Rich" businesses. Bye Bye CA.

Not true, there are a lot of Republicans worried about what is going on with Arnold.Ask how many of them will vote for anyone other than a Republican if it comes down to that. Then you will understand my comment.
