Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Oh yes, her voice IS his lifeline. Prayed all day today while working outside for Logan. Prayed a novena several times to St. Joseph, then the rosary to the Blessed Mother and prayers to St. Jude. Those are some pretty heavy hitters.:) Come onnnnnnn Logan!!!!!

I pray, dear Lord, that precious Logan would draw deeply on this knowledge and respond to his Mom ... may her voice be the music that leads him out of sleep ... may her prayers be the healing that touches his body ... may her many tears fall upon her baby, washing away all fear.

Those pictures of Logan are so precious... he is ADORABLE! And SO healthy looking! :-)

These pictures are pictures of a fetus only 8 months into gestation. That this fetus was born, and suddenly, due to birth, became a human infant, a "baby", if you will, is a mystery! One that all pro choicers need to contemplate! I love this little guy's moxy, just look at his face, expression and eyes. He's a survivor! He should consider himself hugged! I'd love to smooch is little cheek.

UPDATE FROM NANA!

Beth was at the hospital this evening trying to wake our baby up, but he was unresponsive.

One nurse who had had experience with this told her that we need to wait another 48 hours before we got concerned.
She felt that it was a matter of time for him to come out of this.

Nana and I were talking about our expectations for little Logan.
He has jumped every hurdle with flying colors, and he's progressed much faster than anyone expected.
He was born at 26 weeks of gestation; he was very underdeveloped physically, but he's had the ability to develop rapidly.
We have grown comfortable with his ability to exceed our expectations; now we're faced with reality.
No matter how he looks, he's still a micro-preemie, and he's now acting like one.
He's going to have problems, but God, our prayers and the loving devotion of the medical staff and his Nana, his mommy and his family have pulled him out of many tight spots.
This is just one more battle he will fight and win.

Thank you all for your prayers.
I'll have an update around midnight tonight.

I know we all have very heavy hearts, wanting so much for this little guy to wake up and smile his little smiles. I don't know much about this sort of thing, except that this little guy is healing....sleep might be the best way. I remember when this happened to my husband. It is in no way the same....an adult and a tiny baby....although he was also put too far under and it took 3 days for him to wake from it after surgery. On the second day he was not totally unresponsive, but it was frightening because it was clear his responses were coming from a deep sleep. Little Logan is in our prayers. We just have to remember that God's wisdom and grace is with this little guy. One day this will all be a memory and his next big challenge will be ahead of him....crawling, walking, talking, riding a tricycle and then a two-wheeler. He is surrounded by so much love. My thoughts are with his mommy and Nana.

Looking for an update. I ahve been up with my little guy for three noghts in a row. He ahs a cold and has a hard time breathing. Ironic huh. I am so tired right now. Bu tI want to see this update. I wil wait until then to go to bed. My guy is doing better tonight. I pray Logan can hear us through his fog. I am sure his Mom is giving him eveything she has.

Please freepers pray for a fellow freeper Yaella. They have found a spot on an x-ray of his son's spine. His son is 6 years old and and his name is Eli. He is a beautiful red headed boy ,and cherished by his parents. Please add him to your prayer list. He will have an MRI on Monday. His parents are worried because Eli is afriad of needles and he will need an IV for the MRI.

Please hold this family in your prayers along with Logan, Jesse, Rayan ,Sara Grace and Lady Pilgrim's family. Please let Yaella know you are praying ,if you get a chance.

God Bless you Logan. I will check again in a bit to see if there is an update. If I fall asleep before I hear anything, know I am dreaming of you and you Mommy and Daddy. I will dream you are playing ball in the front of your house and running to catch butterflies.
