If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

Hi, Brad's Gramma,
Some of the things Writer said reminded me of something else I have heard of. You may want to have the family check to see if their state has a catastrophic children's fund. The expenses may become overwhelming. (Someone should give them a heads up on the cost of an extended stay in NICU.) After they have addressed the expenses with the hospital and other caregivers, they may be able to turn to such a fund for assistance.
And they will be overwhelmed by the expenses for time in the hospital and after the hospital. Tell them it will take time but they will get past that, too.
In addition to pictures, they also may be able to bring in very tiny plush toys or animals. The NICU nurses will put them in a plastic bag since everything must be sterile in there. With the pictures and toys, at least they will be personalizing things and it helps both the baby and the parents.
That baby is the most important thing though. Another prayer bump.

Thank you for the ping to prayer. Thank you for including a picture of Logan!
Someone may have already posted this, but I looked up the name Logan and found that it means,
"from the little hollow," or "small cove."
Very precious.
Thank you, Father of Life, for Logan!

fervent prayers for Logan. my best friend gave birth to a little girl at the same gestation, 1 lb. 10 oz. That little girl is now an honor student going into 10th grade. She wears glasses and has a scar from her ventilation tube, but she is otherwise fine. i pray the same for Logan.

Hang in there.
That picture looks all too familiar for me.
Our daughter Kathryn was born at 1 lb. 6 ozs.
She is now 11 years old, and doing very well. She continues to get growth hormone shots on a daily basis, but is one strong willed little girl.
God Bless, and prayers are sent your way!

Fifty four years ago I was born 2 1/2 month premature. Technology has improved greatly since then.
Little Logan is in my prayers.
Please keep us updated.

Prayers lifted.
We just had a similar story in our local paper. A baby girl born weighing so very little, months early....16 years ago!
She returned to the neonatal unit on her 16th b.d. to deliver bundles of small teddy bears for the infants there now, and their parents, and the nurses.

Please Lord,
Watch over, bless and keep safe this tiny and precious little boy. He has shown himself to be a fighter and one that wants to grow up and spend time with his devoted and loving family. We ask You to please grant the prayers and petitions of this tiny baby's family.
We request this of You, Oh Heavenly Father, as Your humble servants and in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Btw, Brad's Gramma, it may be of some comfort for your friends to know that when Isaac Newton was born very prematurely 360 years ago, he was so tiny he could be "fitted in a quart pot."
Now it may be too much to wish for to think that little Logan will grow up to be the next Isaac Newton; but every life is precious and has a purpose. God bless the little guy.

Continued thoughts and prayers.
