If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Prayers in Jesus’ Name for healing, protection and health for this precious tiny little person. May He be glorified in her life and the life of her family!
7:24 a.m. "She's in surgery.......... no word yet......... "
The story behind the dog - when Logan was in NICU I bought him a little stuffed dog and his dog watched over him. And through it all when his mom and dad couldnt be there, his puppy kept him safe. And over the days, weeks, months in NICU we watched Logans dog shrink and our Logan grow.....so now Beth (Logan's Mom) bought Florence her own dog and now we have her watching over the baby.
8:58 a.m. "just got a call........ the baby is out of surgery. She lost some of her upper bowel, but it was re-sectioned as well as some of her other internal organs moved around (I can't remember which.... too emotional as I was listening to G.). They did go ahead and remove her appendix since they would have had to move it to the other side, and IF something had gone wrong, no one would have known where to look or what the problem was since the symptoms would have been different. Dr. says she will "eventually" be OK... and that she will stay in NICU at least thru Christmas, perhaps longer.
Sooooooooo.... Thank God our worst fears did not materialize and once more, thru the power of prayer, and the skill of the medical professionals, our family has been blessed with another miracle baby.
I will update as this goes along, and of course, we appreciate all the prayers and well wishes. She's not out of the woods completely but it's certainly a brighter day today :)
BG here...to complicate things more...I'll add Uncle G's (I must stop calling him that! He's Florence's Daddy!) ...I'll add whathisface's ;) emails to his mom.
YESTERDAY @ 11:38 am The baby has arrived 10:44 Don't know pounds or length yet but all looks good. She cried like crazy and raised all kinds of hell. She's amazing looks like Emelia, blond with long blond eyelashes.
She did it all on her own, determined little kid, and only a small amount of meds were needed to speed the process along. No inducing needed.
NICU Doctors said if they didn't know of the problems we faced they would have taken her to the nursery because of how strong she is. She's there now and getting looked over and evaluated. More to follow 2 to 3 hours!!
OMG do I love this baby!!
Today 7:16 am Florence goes into surgery at 8 am. Drs don't know what we are facing yet. Dr C said he has to open her up before he can tell how bad the intestine/bowel problem is. Will update later. Dr C said surgery should take 1 to 2 hours.
She's a beautiful baby - not blond like I thought, but looks a lot like Emelia.
Today 11:57 am She's out and back in NICU about 20 minutes ago. She had 2 blockages - which are called General Artesias. She lost about an inch or two of intestine. Dr C was able to resection the bowels in 2 places, untwist and reposition her guts, and did an appendectomy while he was in there. She should have no further problems. She will be in NICU a minimum of Christmas....sad to hear that but if that's it; we can handle it.
Big prayers were answered here. She could have had catastrophic loss of gut and major long term problems. What a blessing.
5 lbs 1 oz 19" long
Thanks for thinking about us and the prayers.

'Gracious is the LORD, and Righteous; yea, our God is Merciful.' (Ps.116:5)
Any current updates on Baby Florence? I’ve been praying for her today .
We had a preemie back in 1999. We are praying for this little one and are thankful that our little 1 pound 12 ouncer made it back then with similar complications. God Bless You!
NO MORE OXYGEN!!!
She's off the machine breathing on her own. And she's not under the phototherapy for the Jaundice. Her bilirubin counts were good so no more sunglasses under the lights.
No significant changes in the poop department but in due time we'll be changing diapers. Amazing how my life has changed....now the significant things during the day are if Emelia and the baby poops or not.
We are blessed; this could have been so very much worse.

Ps St Nick visited the Bean in the NICU. He brought her the cutest "babies first Christmas" ornament from Germany...
