If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Prayers up for these two little gals and the family as well. Prayers will continue from my neck of the woods.
Praying for God to bless and surround your daughter and grandbabies in His loving, merciful, providential care, EG, and may all go well for them.
Praying that her bp normalizes and stabilizes, and that the babies are healthy.
Don’t know about little Katherine’s legs, but it touches my heart so deeply, and I certainly understand your concerns. Praying for the very best of results possible for her. We know that He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think”. (Eph. 3:20) Also remembering now what the Apostle Paul said, about his physical infirmities, in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness...”
So, I guess, when all is said and done, we just pray and trust in God - no matter, come what may - because we do know that His blessings will suffice, and we’ll be the better for it.
Sunday check in :)
Just wanted you to know we’re thinking about y’all.
Nana
The pregnant lady was feeling better today than yesterday. She ate about 1/2 her steak, all of her baked potato along with 1/2 of Cousin Britney's. She kept the other half of her steak and the potato for later. She also ate a fair number of green beans and a couple of rolls. So she ate a lot, for her, and a good balance.
I think she's resigned herself to a birth this week, probably meaning it won't be this week, but tomorrow's ultrasound will tell the tale.
BTW, Grandpa got another good-bye kiss, but no kisses or hugs before then, while everyone else was getting them. I think she was glad to see me go .. well not really. Miss V loves to wave and say bye-bye, even if it's just a diaper that is going bye-bye. She did let me read a book to her while she sat on my lap. She likes books. She's coming to it about 1 1/2 years later than her mother did, but coming from our family, and her Dad's too to some extent, she could hardly not like them. :)
Thanks once again for your thoughts, concerns and prayers.
Thanks so much for the ping to the update. Happy birthday to you! Miss V learnes one more lesson early on I see. Glad the appitites are good. Continued prayers. I look forward to your next update.
Thanks for the great update! ((( Hugs to Miss V ))) lol.
Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a good one.
Glad “the pregnant lady” was feeling better and had good appetite. Prayers for her and the little ones. I’ll be checking in for an update about the test today. God bless.
The twins made their grand entrance about 2:30 this afternoon. Their mother had gone for a sonogram and appointment with the high risk specialist. The verdict: They have to come out TODAY!. And they did.
Elizabeth 4 lb 9 oz
Katherine 3 lb 6 oz
It shows... BUT Katherine is breathing on her own and wants to suck (But she's so small they won't let her just yet.. but soon) She's moving her arms and legs around, yawing and crying (HUNGRY!!). Her color looks really good.
Elizabeth is on oxygen, but is otherwise breathing on her own too. She's a tad less pink, but improving with the Oxygen. She was sleeping, but woke up and cried when the nurse came to "instrument her up" some more, and to get some clothes on her, beyond just the diaper she was wearing when they let Grandpa and Aunt B into the NICU.
Didn't get a good look, actually no look at all, at their eyes to see the color, but their hair looks about like big sister's did when she was born. (It fell out and came back in almost platinum, as it remains).
First impression is that Katherine looks more like Victoria, and it's hard to tell with Elizabeth.
While Katherine is tiny, she doesn't seem all that much out of proportion. She's definitely the feisty one at this point, and has been for a couple of months at least. Aunt B picked up Miss V from her preschool, and wasn't at the hospital when they were born, but she wouldn't have gotten to see them until she did anyway. After taking her home for a wee snack and to pick up the diaper bag, she took Victoria to her friend Tilly B's house. We didn't think we'd get to see them at all.
Don't know if Grandma Gata got to Austin before NICU visiting hours or not. Probably did, but by that time Grandpa was out picking up Victoria and taking her to Chic Fil A for some grub and some play time. She's now out playing with her own toys and will soon get a "Bath by Grandpa".
Update! Grandma made it in time, and got to see the twins in the NICU. Daddy is coming home for story and bath time.
Great Grandma Gata (El Gato's mother) was thrilled at the news, maybe relieved would be a better word, or both really. She was more worried than she let on. (She just turned 81 two days ago)
Thanks once again for all your prayers and concern. Ya Did Good. As did the little troopers, Elizabeth and Katherine.
I'll try to have more updates as new information comes in.
Disaster strikes! While I was posting, Miss V got in to yesterday's birthday cake. What a mess. Then Grandma and Daddy showed up, before I quite finished cleaning up. Now I'm in the Canine Casa.
Thank You God!! Praise be to Him.....
EG!!! HOOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Safe delivery and it sounds like they are doing really well. Prayers answered.
Thank you so much for letting us know. It will be a busy time around everyone’s house..... I’m so thrilled, words escape me.
Oh! Please give your mom a belated birthday kiss from us. How great that she is involved and part of this. Memories.. wonderful memories.
Love and hugs.....
“TT”, Beth & Nana
Thank You, Heavenly Father! Prayers of praise and thanksgiving!
I had a suspicion that y’all must have been having that “coming out party” today, since we didn’t hear anything sooner. Been praying - especially for mom and the babes.
So-o-o-o happy to hear that they all are doing well, and that little Katherine is proportioned well too!
What a great and joyous birthday gift for Great Grandma Gata and El Gato! And, Miss V got to celebrate with more birthday cake! lol.
The girls sound gorgeous...can’t wait to see the pictures Grandma took! God bless all! : )
WOO HOO!!!

Elizabeth Joy 4 lb 9 oz
Kathryn Josephine 3 lb 6 oz
And of course:
Victoria Jeanne, Big Sister and Ladybug Extraordinary
Canine Casa - ROFLOL!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ALL AROUND!
Thank you, Lord... THANK YOU!
As you can see, it's a little hard to tell with that diaper, but I think that photo shows that her thighs are sorta short. She's just too big for the smallest size, but not really big enough for the next one up.
I am of course overwhelmed and very optimistic. However, we have to remember that things can still have some bumps along the way, especially in the next few days. But I am optimistic.
Grandma is staying with Miss V tonight, and will take her up North to Sherman, in the afternoon tomorrow, bringing her back to Austin on Friday. I'll probably go down to Austin after work on Wednesday, hopefully making up some work time from today, tomorrow. Need to save vacation, because we know they need me later to fill the gap between Grandmas.
Daddy reported that her color was much better when he took Grandma in to see the babies, about 18:15 or so.
Found out that it's only during shift change that visitors are not allowed in the NICU, so even if I go after work, I'll be able to drop in on the twins.
They’re BEAUTIFUL babies...
Congratulations!!!
