Luckily, I missed them. It was a busy week at work, so I was't on FR much. But I think a steady diet of reading that kind of stuff would get very discouraging to me, anyway, so thanks for the heads up. I'll make a point of avoiding his (or her) posts from now on.

" I keep hearing Freepers complain that Arnold is a RINO "
RINO has become synonymous with Satan on some of these threads. He hasn't advanced one position yet,but that hasn't stopped the holy water from being sprinkled about.Arnold has supported the military, visited bases and campaigned for Republicans and I am sure he will be a supporter of President Bush and the WOT.Arnold makes the Democrat dwarfs look even smaller and insignificant. The next 2 months it's going to be pretty tough for the dwarfs to get any ink, with Arnold sucking up all the oxygen. And if Arnold is elected, the dwarfs are going to need O2 masks, as he will continue to be in the spotlight. The Democrats are absolutely apoplectic about Arnold winning and that my friend, speaks volumes.

This map shows the county-by-county breakdown of the vote for Democratic Gov. Gray Davis and Republican challenger Bill Simon. The map is shaded to show how heavily a county voted for a candidate, blue for Democrats and red for Republicans. Counties won by third party or independent candidates will be noted in yellow. Refresh the page regularly to see updates on Election Night.

I'll bet you're right:
You can bet your bottom dollar that Karl Rove is overjoyed at the prospect of Ah-nald(R) in the Governor's chair during next year's election.

Sometimes I think the crowd to whom Steyn refers secretly would rather have Leftist Dems in officeI've always felt it's better to see the attack coming than to get it in the back, the preferred CINO method

It's the "slit-your-wrist-Keysters" who are more concerned with calling fellow FReepers RINOS than they are with defeating democRATS!

heh heh, pretty good. Although since it's probably going to happen, at least we should get the few conservatives out of the state before it does eh?

Bzzzz. Wrong summation. :) Sorry too, because you & I have been on the same side more than once.
My key point is that this is not the same type of election as anything in the past. I don't want anybody being scared out of their principles believing this opportunity is no different than everything that has come before.
The media tried to make a joke of the recall efforts. They failed. Now they are trying to make a circus instead of taking the primary issue seriously -- overspending by a mad crowd that doesn't care it has bankrupted the state. That is a joke? Removing the key joker, the one who implements it all, isn't serious work?
No, we do not this time have to follow the crowd whipped up by the suspect media's orchestration of Arnuld's coming out. When the hoopla dies down, and the stardust has dimmed in many peoples eyes, please reconsider all that I have said in the last few days and here.
This unique setup is more like the type of election that passed props 13, 187 and 205 and 227. It cuts across all lines. It has the potential to unite behind a good and strong man, the type that is needed at times like these.
What is most different is that the prevalence of just two main party candidates IS GONE. Party dominantion is as diminished in this as for any election in living memory.
Why not try a stand up for what you say you believe in rather than kowtow to what the Establishment is willing to dole out? This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and so many don't even want to try and fight it out? To be grateful for what Providence has unexpectedly offered and play our best cards? I'm sorry, I will never understand that.
There is good cause to try to stand up and follow the conservative path this time. But you don't see any of what of I've described? You remain fearful more than faithful. Well, you are not alone. I hope you find comfort in that.
I'm sorry you've written yourself out of this once-in-a-generation opportunity. Of course we need all the stalwarts we can muster. You are welcome back anytime. May God bless you.

Lonevoice: That news would shock even the Hollywood "elite"! ;)The clause you wrote, "He has said he is a family man and so is his wife," if taken literally, makes his wife out to be a man. I think Lonevoice simply pointed out that even jaded, gayed-out, transgendered Hollyweird would be a little shocked to learn of Maria's secret.

I heard one reporter ask Arianna "How long did you have to wait in the car" before coming up the walk to horn in on Arnold's arrival. Tony snow was laughing so hard he couldn't interview his studio guests properly. And I couldn't believe it when she knocked over the microphones. She acted like a spoiled child wanting to be the center of attention at someone else's birthday party.

I don't agree with you, Kevin. Morality has a crucial place in modern politics. But it is also highly moral to acknowledge that we are all sinners, and to not point fingers at the other guy, but to work together to achieve good things. Aren't we told that God helps those who help themselves?
In order to affect political change, one needs a seat at the table of political power. Politics is about building winning coalitions and achieving what is possible at a given point in time. If those who were opposed to abortion, or illegal immigration, or gun control (or any of the core issues that matter to Conservatives) were able to form a coalition of activists who turned out huge demonstrations all across the country week after week, the political class would sit up, take notice, and start writing legislation accordingly. If we were able to form large, effective, cohesive voting blocs, we could achieve much greater success in elections. But you never see that kind of dedicated activism in huge numbers on issues of importance to the Right. In fact, the opposite is true we are more likely on the Right to splinter into narrow factions than is the case with the Left. We have no one to blame for that but ourselves.

Especially when the appease-at-any-cost Establishment is attempting, through Arnold, to swoop in and steal the harvest of a true, grass roots rebellion.
My vote is not the birthright of the husband of a Kennedy.

I meant to say that he is a family man and she is a family woman or good wife, or whatever the PC word is. My point was to say that they are family oriented people, and that he and his wife believe in family values. I hope everyone else understood what I meant.
