Bzzzz. Wrong summation. :) Sorry too, because you & I have been on the same side more than once.

My key point is that this is not the same type of election as anything in the past. I don't want anybody being scared out of their principles believing this opportunity is no different than everything that has come before.

The media tried to make a joke of the recall efforts. They failed. Now they are trying to make a circus instead of taking the primary issue seriously -- overspending by a mad crowd that doesn't care it has bankrupted the state. That is a joke? Removing the key joker, the one who implements it all, isn't serious work?

No, we do not this time have to follow the crowd whipped up by the suspect media's orchestration of Arnuld's coming out. When the hoopla dies down, and the stardust has dimmed in many peoples eyes, please reconsider all that I have said in the last few days and here.

This unique setup is more like the type of election that passed props 13, 187 and 205 and 227. It cuts across all lines. It has the potential to unite behind a good and strong man, the type that is needed at times like these.

What is most different is that the prevalence of just two main party candidates IS GONE. Party dominantion is as diminished in this as for any election in living memory.

Why not try a stand up for what you say you believe in rather than kowtow to what the Establishment is willing to dole out? This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and so many don't even want to try and fight it out? To be grateful for what Providence has unexpectedly offered and play our best cards? I'm sorry, I will never understand that.

There is good cause to try to stand up and follow the conservative path this time. But you don't see any of what of I've described? You remain fearful more than faithful. Well, you are not alone. I hope you find comfort in that.

I'm sorry you've written yourself out of this once-in-a-generation opportunity. Of course we need all the stalwarts we can muster. You are welcome back anytime. May God bless you.

Especially when the appease-at-any-cost Establishment is attempting, through Arnold, to swoop in and steal the harvest of a true, grass roots rebellion.

My vote is not the birthright of the husband of a Kennedy.

I am a political realist. You are, of course, talking about Tom McClintock. Yep, he's a good man. If this were a primary, I would support his campaign and vote for him. If he failed to win the primary, I'd support the Republican nominee.

But it's not a primary and unless some miracle happens, McClintock does not have a snowball's chance of winning. You can dream it; you can wish it; you can get out and work hard to elect him. Won't make any difference. The man simply is not going to win this election. As for Simon, sorry, no can do. I supported him last time, voted for him in both the primaries and the general. But I was absolutely disgusted by the incredibly inept — frankly, downright stupid — campaign he ran. Based on his management of that campaign, the man is not qualified to be governor.

So you tell me...what choice is there? I'll be damned if I'm going to chase after some pipedream while Cruz Bustamante becomes governor of California.
