Bless you, Dr. Deb.
I saw the Pew results today and thought they ran contrary to everything I'd been hearing about Bush's poll numbers again rising recently.
Your analysis helps me understand what is up and the Lib hand behind it. Thanks for the knowledge!

A fall to 50 % is played up by the press and the dems. Just like unemployment of 6.4 in my mind is a good number,,I remember the 70's when it was huge. So they act like 6.4 is a depression and it is not. They capitalized on the "if you lost your job it is 100%" mentality, the personal rather than the statistical.

I noticed today MSNBC/NBC is the only network who is citing the Pew poll.

And interestingly enough my local NBC station is touting that the Pres. ratings are down at some 53% level. Didn't catch the name of the poll they used.

Hi oWf,
We went to see the surgeon yesterday and he thinks that she really needs that permanent portacath or whatever it is called. He said it will go in on her left upper chest under the shoulder bone. He is a great Christian dr. who had some wonderful music playing. Jan and I had gone into a music store looking for some CD's and we had to get out of there because of the terrible racket they were playing as music. Have a good day. How is Eric doing? Thanks for the updates.

People overestimate the impact of press attacks. Political journalists are totally out of touch with average people's concerns.

Morris is a mixed bag. Sometimes he's right on the money other times he's a putz. And of course he can't be forgiven for reelecting that (censored) Klinton.
I have feeling that Bush is like Reagan, teflon.

Wouldn't it be funny, just for imaginings sake, if:
- The President's approval number fell below 50% while he was at the ranch
- Hitlery jumps into the race
- David Kay's report clears the president and Prime minister of any exaggerations and shows his opponents to be opportunistic mud-slingers
- President's approval climbs back to 60%
- Saddam turns up dead -President's approval back to 65%.
- Osama Bin Laden's head on a stick - President up to 70%
- Dow hit 10,000, unemployment eases - President stays above 70%
Hitlery's broken her promise to serve her term and entered a race she can't win. What would the Witch do then?

Oh, I don't know. I've heard plenty of "regular" Americans refer to articles/opinions of the alphabet channels and newspapers. And more insidious, it colors their outlooks creating a propensity to lean a certain direction on issues. I think you will admit the communists were masters at controlling their citizens... it is working now in the US, too.
To: spokeshave
Do you think this is a plan by the Kennedy family to ditch the Clintons ..?? I've seen that suggested .. that this is a payback for JFK Jr. (who was planning to run for Senator from NY).

That would be the far left and it's usually between 30-35%I have to believe that the "far left" is no more than 15 or 20% at most. Then you have dems who are more moderate and some independants that are easily manipulated by their lib lies (older people who are told their medicare benefits will go, others who believe that GOPers are racist, will take school lunches away from kids, union members who are intimidated, illegal aliens, etc).
To: rwfromkansas
The numbers actually show 47 percent reelect, 40 percent somebody else. And these are numbers that tend to be skewed toward the opponents by a good margin anyway, so I would imagine the real number is closer currently to 50 percent reelect numbers. But again, these are not the best measures.....against actual candidates is better. However, the generic ballot test last year GOP vs. Dem did turn out to be pretty accurate. It will be interesting to see how that turns out next year. This stat is very meaningless folks... I believe that aby type of plurality is HUGE for Bush.
Think about it... It's Bush against:Dean,Sharpton,Edwards,Graham,Lieberman,Kerry,Kucinich,Braun,Gephardt, and None of the above, the Green partt, a no-name independant, a protest vote, a hate Bush vote, etc etc etc...
What are the chances that once these 12 or so choices are narrowed to a single candidate will all go for that single candidate? What are the chances that all of Gephardt's supporters all go for Dean. All of Sharpton's supporters all go for Kerry rather than stay home or not vote at all?
The head-to-head matchups are the only ones worth looking at, and being that it's 15 months away, even these mean very little.

My local ABC affiliate must have inadvertently [wink] forgotten to mention this little tidbit on this morning's newscast. Go figureI follow the news like a hawk... The first one I heard make reference to this poll was Rush... Kudos to him
Even yesterday and today, 2 days after the release of this poll, I'm still seeing CBS and NBC referencing the pew poll, making NO reference to Gallup. No liberal bias, right? Riiight

I'd be willing to bet ANYONE here that the Dow will be above 10,000 by this time next year. I frankly believe it'll be over 10,000 THIS year. After all, it's only another 8.8%!

I'd love to see a poll taken asking democrat parents if they'd rather send the $400.00 per child tax cash they just received back to Washington.
