Freep Foxnews David Asman! Positive! Ann Coulter Transcript!

Posted on 08/05/2003 11:11:08 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

On 07-19-03 I posted an article about how I was concerned about Foxnews.

Then on 07-30-03 I posted another article about how great it was to see Bob Sellers, Neil Cavuto, and David Hunt tell it like it is!

On 08-02-03 I posted an article wishing Bob Sellers Brother in Law good luck fighting and searching for weapons in Iraq.

Today I'd like to thank David Asman's son for fighting in Iraq as many of us already have. Today David interviewed a woman who apparently supported the gay bishop.

David was debating the woman and she couldn't refute anything he was saying. He quoted the bible directly several times. YOU WON'T SEE THAT ON CNN!! David is against gay's being leaders in the church, and the woman is for it.

David quoted First Timothy 3:2 about elders.
The woman said...

"Well thats your interpretation of it"

"Its very simple said David...right here in black and white."

"I don't possibly have time in this short segment to debate this with you, said the woman."

"Well said David. When I get my own show thats an hour long. I want you to be the first guest. Maybe you can explain this to me."

David mentioned getting his own show! Lets let Foxnews know that David Asman needs to have his own show an hour long! David reads Free Republic by the way. He is a lurker.

Here is this week's Asman Observer.

Monday, August 04, 2003 By David Asman

Like a lot of families out there, my family was holding its breath for several months this year as our son was deployed to Iraq. Last week, he returned home for a glorious reunion for which we gave thanks.

But, while we gave thanks in private, we also give thanks in public. One of the secrets of our success at FOX is that there is a sense of family here. Not just for those of us who work here, but for those of you who watch. We feel connected in a special way to all of you, and when my son went to war, you all pitched in. He and his task force were getting letters, cards and packages from FOX fans all over the world.

I thought about getting him on air to say thanks. But he’s not a camera-hog like his father. More than that, he doesn’t like to be singled out while so many of his brothers and sisters are still over there, still in need of your thoughts and prayers. In short, my son’s a lot wiser than I am. But from the bottom of his heart, from the bottom of my family’s heart, we thank you.

That's the Asman Observer.

Also last night Ann Coulter was on Hannity and Colmes. She did great!

Hannity@Foxnews.com

E.D. Hill is guest hosting for Linda Vester today on Dayside. And we all know how much we love E.D.! E.D. is doing an awesome job! DaySide@foxnews.com

Here is a partial transcript of Ann Coulter on Hannity and Colmes last night.

Alan:
"So you want to call me any names before we start?"

Sean:
"I'll call you a name."

Ann:
"I'd like for you to talk first"

Alan:
"Ok then. Lets talk first. Lets talk about this idea of capturing Saddam Huessein. It would be great if we got him. It certainly would be very good for President Bush politically. It would literally be a great cou if we got him. It would be great for President Bush's political fortunes. But shouldn't his fortunes be about how well the country's coming together. I know it will be a great moment and we probably will get him, but does that make it a good mission? Does that make it worthwhile?"

Ann:
"I don't think I understand the question. Ann looks around to see if anybody else understood" Everyone laughs at this point. Even Alan.

Alan:
"Does that make it a good mission?"

Ann:
"So in other words. Capturing Saddam would be good for the country, good for the war on terror, good for the war, good for Iraq, but it would also be good for George W. Bush. So on the other hand maybe you should go join the other Democrats in opposing the capture of Saddam"

Alan:
"Oh No. I think it would be great if we captured him. No Question it would be great. The Iraqi's would know he was now gone just like Uday and Qusay. But there is more to this mission than just capturing Saddam. We have not done well in prosecuting the peace so far."

Ann:
"Oh I think we have. After World War 2 we had American troops in Germany. They were complaining, they wanted to go home, they were being attacked by young Nazi's. This is how things go when you are trying to bring Democracy to a country thats never had it before at all. Civilising Germany and Japan were trickier than this."

Alan:
"Lets go to Susan Estrich now. Susan I think the President has gotten a pass on this. There is still mass chaos in Iraq, still chaos in Afghanistan. We have not achieved closure in either of these places."

Susan:
"I don't think he's gotten a pass on it at all. The truth is that I'd love to see Saddam captured. George Bush the Senior, George Bush the Jr, and all kinds of Democrats would all love to see Saddam captured."

Alan:
"Whats better for Saddam? Dead or Alive"

Alan:
"I agree with Ann on that. I'd love to see him captured"

Alan:
"Whats better for Saddam Susan? Dead or Alive?"

Susan:
"I_..I don't know..I would much rather see him alive. I don't like to see anybody dead"

Sean:
"You don't want to see Saddam dead?"

Susan:
"We've got American soldiers over there acting like big tough policemen enforcing the laws. My heart goes out to the men and women who expected to be home month's ago. "

Alan:
"Ann, would you rather see Saddam dead or alive? I contend that Udy and Qusay would have been better off alive. Saddam would be better off alive. I'd rather see him spend the rest of his life in prison"

Ann:
"You liberals and your anti-death penalty fervor. These people are monsters.Ann laughs out loud while saying this"

Susan:
"Don't you want to see Saddam suffer Ann? Don't you want to see him suffer?"

Ann:
"Yes I do think he should suffer. Right before he dies. I think its useful for people to see these monsters die. They should be killed in a humiliating way."

Susan:
"I don't mourn Uday or any of these guys."

Ann:
"Oh you do too."

Sean:
" Susan, Don't you want to see Saddam dead?"

Susan:
"I really don't care. Its troubling to see American soldiers being policemen in Iraq don't you think Sean?"

Sean:
"No. I see that they just liberated 50 million people. Liberals are the only ones that question whether or not that was a good thing. You are continually trying to berate this President. You are not being helpful. You guys are always on the wrong side of history."

Susan:
"Did he get a pass? Did this work? If this were Clinton you would be all over him."

Ann:
"This entire debate is hysterical"

Vintage Ham and CHeese. Colmes switches away from Coulter right after she begins landing the punishing body-shots. In boxing, that would be called getting saved by the bell.

I saw this -- Ann hit the nail on the head, per usual. Poor stupid libs. They just can't figure out a successful way to bash Bush and "support the troops" at the same time.

Ann: "This entire debate is hysterical"

What a classic response, just classic.

Ann is such a charming young women, and as a bonus she has brains, wit and beauty.

Watched David this morning with this woman/priest or whatever; he was great and she was rediculous attempting to parse and deny.

David was right; it is only a 'job qualification' passage. . .not the Bible that needed interpreting.

Loved it; David had the truth of issue by the tail and never let go.

Have noticed the same; drives me crazy; same last night.

But Anne hangs in there; she is a real winner.

If they were still alive, they would not be burning in hell yet, so yes, they would be better off alive.

I saw David interview this "rector", too, and thought he was awesome and amazing. And he was so cordial and self-deprecating about it, "I probably don't read the Bible as much as I should." And he was like a dog on a T-bone; he did NOT let this woman off the hook. Good for him!! I think I'll go write him a fan letter... Maybe even put up a David Asman poster in my bedroom, if it's OK with hubby. LOL

I suspect this rector, whatever that is, and her ilk see the Bible as a, "living and breathing document." It breaks my heart to see God's Word disregarded by so-called religious leaders.

"In boxing, that would be called getting saved by the bell."

In boxing it was called "rope-a-dope", a substitute for actually throwing punches.

1 Timothy 3:2 - "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;"

Sorta leaves out ol' Robinson, doesn't it?

Better still is 1 Tim.4:1
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

Thanks for the ping Timesink. You're doing a masterful job!

I caught the tail end of the exchange with the clergy today. David quoted a passage from the bible which clearly stated that marriage is a union between a man and a woman (paraphrasing). The clergy said she would not comment on excerpts taken out of context. Poor David was as dumbfounded as I with her ridiculous pretzel logic.
