CANTEEN SPORTS CORNER PRESENTS: GAMES!
CALLING ALL GAMERS!!
HOSTED BY: Tonkin, Ma, and MoJo2001

Today we kick off our shoes and ready ourselves for some fun. If you love playing or watching games, then today will be fun. If you don't like playing games, then join us for some silliness. Please share your favorite video, card, board, or computer games on the thread. We'd love  to read about it. As always, enjoy yourself. Don't forget to click on the links on the right hand side for our weekly threads and sports links. Also, links will be provided throughout the thread. Thank you!

If you are wondering why we are doing this, please keep in mind the troops around the world that visit us. Sometimes mindless fun for a few minutes can provide that extra release from the often thankless job of defending our freedom. For our troops, their families, and friends; it is important to create a place where they can get a moment of silliness and fun. Well, that's what we are here for. We hope you keep that in mind. Not all games will be to everyone's liking. However, we do feel that we've provided games for everyone to enjoy.

All the information posted in the thread were found in public domains around the internet. We promise that no computer geeks or hackers were harmed during this searching process. We made sure that no egos were bruised. We also promise to have given Bill Gates top billing in the Top Sellers listing at the bottom. We do not encourage gambling in any form. However, if you do win some money from Powerball or the lottery, please Freepmail us at once. We are probably related. If you play any of these games and you lose, we are not responsible for your lack of gaming capabilities. We apologize for any stress that has been caused having to read this message on the right sidebar. We realize that you'd rather play the games and not have to read another useless word posted over here. With that in mind, we leave you now. Goodbye!

FANTASY SPORTS GAMES ONLINE

Do you like football? If you are ready for football season, why not try your skill as a Coach or manager of your own team. The following links will allow you to set up your own teams and leagues. So? If you have any friends you know you can beat, definitely invite them to join you! Oh! You can pay for some leagues, but we are just interested in the FREE games. Don't forget to read the rules. You will also need to register in order to begin playing. If you don't want email to your account, set up a yahoo or hotmail account for free.  Using these games for gambling purposes is prohibited. Also, all games we searched for are free. Prizes are given out, but no purchase is necessary to play. (Why pay to play games that are offered for free?)

Sporting New's Basica Fantasy Football (Free)Sporting New's Fantasy College Football (Free)
*Sporting News has two free Fantasy Football Leagues one for the NFL and the other for NCAA football. The basic premise of this game is the player (that's you!) is given 35 million dollars. You then create your ultimate team. Each week, depending upon the players performance from the week before, they will either increase or decrease in value. Don't forget that you start with 35 million dollars and you want to have an increase each week with the players available on your roster.  (Don't forget to click on the footballs to transport to their site!)

Pigskin Pick'em (Free---Not Started Yet! Sign Ups begin soon!)ESPN's Gridiron Challenge (Free--Sign Ups Begin August 20th)ESPN's College Pick'em (Free--Sign Ups Begin in August)
*ESPN.com offers their free Fantasy Pro and College games. These games are usually very fun. There's not too much stress with these games. You basically just pick the teams each week that you believe is going to win. One of the college games deals with the point spread. Will the team win by the spread or lose by it. It's not very complicated. (Don't forget to click on the footballs to transport!)

Yahoo's Free Fantasy Football Game

*Yahoo's Fantasy Football League is for all of those fans that love to participate in a Live NFL Draft. You first begin by ranking the players that you really like. After you've set up or joined a league, an actual Draft date will be set. After the Draft has taken place, you can begin looking at your team. You will be able to do trades and act like a general manager and coach. What a wonderful way to play the game without the drama or egos. Enjoy this game. Sign Ups are still available now. (Don't forget to click on the football to transport!)

These are just a few of the Free Fantasy Football games. We are sure there are others out there, but they are hard to come by these days. When Fantasy Football games first began online, they were virtually all free. However, the popularity of these games has created a need (in the opinions of the website gurus) for more interactive and paid services. Which is fine, but we remain cheapskates and free is good for us.

be sure to start your shopping now like I did. This way you are sure they have every by Christmas time. Just put it on lay-away til just before Christmas and then Tonk knows where to get it.

Beachy dear, do what I do! A lay-away can require a deposit, and sweetheart, you must protect your cash flow. So, I gather estimates and then issue "always considerate, to save Tonk the time of signing approvals" pre-approved purchase orders. (Tonk then doesn't just know where to get it, he's got it -- and without the bother of also getting pesky writer's cramp or carpel tunnel syndrome! Am I not the most generous gift recipient in the world or what!?)
