[history]
The city is opening a full-fledged high school for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students - the first of its kind in the nation, The Post has learned.
Operating for two decades as a small alternative program with just two classrooms, the new Harvey Milk HS officially opens as a stand-alone public school with 100 students in September.

If some conservative, using the slippery slope analogy, predicted that something like this would appear most would have said that that person was delusional, even just a few years ago. This whole Gay/Lesbian political movement is astonishingly powerful After 21 posts of mostly laughing at this, someone finally gets it. They are TREMENDOUSLY powerful, perhaps more powerful than any other political group in America. This is a strategy planned and executed for 4 decades, which has come to fruition. The GOP has already surrendered to it. There is nothing funny at all about this. I live in NYC and we are getting the hell out of here to protect our children. This is truly a nightmare for America.

Let me get this straight - The Citadel cannot operate as a male-only establishment because it is discriminitory but NY can have a school that refuses heterosexuals and that is considered progressive?
We cannot have vouchers because it will siphon precious resources away from the regular public schools yet they can siphon away those same funds to benefit a special group that makes up a couple of percent of the population. So the parents who can't afford to get their kids out of the rotten public school system should be pleased that being gay now trumps being African-American when it comes to doling out the public funds.
No one should get any special treatment but since the Democrat party's platform is almost entirely based on special treatment the resulting infighting might be fun to watch.

Doesn't New York already have the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts and the Performing Arts?
(Would love to see the football game between them and Harvey Milk High.)

What a complete waste of money. NYC is supposedly in a fiscal crisis, the public schools are in meltdown and this is how the powers that be choose to spend tax payer money. Un-freaking-believable. Sickening.

I wonder if they will be required to teach heterosexuality in health class.brilliant!

It seems that some people are finally waking up to the evil that is the homosexual agenda. The link scripter posted to the "After the Ball" summary should be read by everyone who even slightly cares about what is happening in this country (or world!).
If we don't fight this, the horrors to follow we can't imagine. It is sickening that the Republica party folks (with notable exceptions like Rick Santorum) are behaving like like amoral slime on this issue.

(Would love to see the football game between them and Harvey Milk High.)Yes, but it wouldn't be tackle footbal... it'd be either "touch" or "Fag" Flag football.

Can any kid claim he is gay and sign up, or does he/she have to prove it?

You're a virgin, you have never had a girlfriend, the bullies call you a faggot. You just described the young Clemenza. However, I held my ground and never even considered "questioning my sexuality."

Can any kid claim he is gay and sign up, or does he/she have to prove it? I don't know about Harvey Milk school. I was referring to LaGuardia High School of Music and Art.
Music and Art has been around for decades, so the answer to that is, no, being a homosexual is not a prerequisite to enter the school (since I am definitely not homosexual).
You also don't "sign up" for Music and Art High School. You have to take and pass an entrance exam, either in music or art, to be accepted.

I overheard a conversation at a Braves game last week.
One homosexual was complaining about the 39,000 who attended the game, saying that they were prejudiced against homosexuals, and that he felt uncomfortable in the crowd.
His friend responded that he knew exactly what prejudice feels like, because he was singled out in Vegas for dressing differently than others.
This made me think, "if you don't scream to the top of your lungs that you are gay, then how will anyone else know that you are, and be able to treat you poorly?"
After hearing their comments I believe that they single themselves out for being "different", and then complain when they are treated differently.
To: PallMal
Hey, that's my alma mater you're talking about!Sorry, I didn't mean to cast aspersions on everyone who attended there. I just would've thought that, with the performing arts angle, a significant number of homosexual high school students would gravitate there.

suicide" like handball... on crack I LOVED suicide! People from other parts of the country don't know what I'm talking about. When I moved to Florida in high school, the local Floridiots called it "sting."
