I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.
They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)
The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.
When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.
I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.
This just keeps getting better and better...

Kobe has a spotless reputation (not)! Oh, adultery doesn't count I guess? It seems to me that Kobe is a hypocrite; He pretends to be this great family man while cheating on his wife. We don't know about the girl (remember Monica was called a stalker/unstable by the clinton machine), but we do know (DNA doesn't lie) that Kobe did have sex with that woman. The question that remains is this. Is Kobe a rapist or merely an adulterer: some reputation.

The girl did not wait. How do you think they have DNA evidence which is the only reason Kobe stopped lying about the sex part?

"the girl said she does'nt'want any money" I'm sure then, that she'll be donating all 'proceeds' of her civil litigation to a rape crisis center, health center, or some other suitable charity.
Right?
That's what I thought. Any time someone says that it's not about the money.......it's about the money.

When a crime is committed, and the 'victim' waits until all physical evidence is gone,Are you referring to the Kobe Bryant rape or some other case ?
These are your quotes and reflect your depth of thought, not to mention your bias.
"I hold religion to be a deeply personal issue, and never a public one. Those who would espouse their religion, faith or superstitions upon the public, are to be more feared than terrorists at large."
To: george wythe
Previous reports posted in FR had claimed the opposite. A spokeswoman for the DA who is directly quoted claimed the opposite. Nice spin control by the DA, though. I guess he should keep his staffers up to date. He would have to be a complete idiot not to have known.

My apologies. I've been holding back since my initial post because I thought it would just inflame things, but you are obviously upset, so I thought I'd reply.
I absolutely do not want to decriminalize rape. It was a poorly chosen rhetorical advice and I apologize for it.
I would like men and women to behave in more responsible ways. I would like men to be gentlemen. I would like women to be ladies. I would like anti-social, violent criminals punished.
I think Kobe and his accuser are both in very sad situations right now. AFAIK the whole thing could have been prevented if either of the two had behaved in a more decorous manner. That's really all I want to say, except -- my apologies, once again, for offending you.

Can you believe it? The radio announcer just casually said "well you just told tens of thousands..." and she went right on saying that she, after all these years of faithful marriage, still gets um, 'torn up' on occasion. The point she was trying to make, I think, was that certain evidence on the accuser's body doesn't mean Kobe necessarily raped her. The whole conversation was surreal.

My recollection is that the girl told the people at the front desk that she had been raped, and then went to the emergency room Your recollection is wrong. Maybe you should provide a source.

I thought that it must be a joke, albeit as you have acknowledged, a poor one.
To: Mr. Bird
Let me tell you if I was raped, I don't know if I would call the cops. The idea of going through a rape trial and having to tell people what some sick bas... did to me would be intolerable. Also, if it was a powerful person like Kobe, my whole life would be trashed. People who were never really my friends would probably cash in and tell big fat lies. I bet many of you think Juanita Broderick was in fact raped by Clinton. Yet, she waited years to come forward.

The girl sounds like a total nut to me. But hey, if you want to see a man with a spotless past go to jail based on the word of a girl who sounds like a nut, that's your business It is insane, isn't it?

Actually, Kobe doesn't have a spotless past anymore -- he's admitted to cheating on his wife and infant daughter. That doesn't mean he's committed rape...but he's surely not a saint, either.

She can't speak about the case until it's adjudicated, at which time I expect she'll be on every show from "Nightline" to "The Daily Show".

It seems to me that Kobe is a hypocrite; He pretends to be this great family man while cheating on his wife. Who Is the Real Kobe? As the Lakers superstar faces assault charges, his friends and teammates wonder how well they ever knew him
Other teammates are less diplomatic: The way he was so into his wife, you figured he would never stray from her. He was too goody-two-shoes to do that, says one. But obviously we didnt know him as well as we thought. So secretive was Bryant that he apparently didnt even tell Laker management that he had gone to Colorado for knee surgery, the reason for his June 30 stay at the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera, where the alleged victim was working at the front desk.
The alienation doesnt end at the locker-room door: after marrying an 18-year-old high-school student in April 2001, Bryant became temporarily estranged from his parents and two older sisters, who quickly moved back to their hometown of Philadelphia in a show of protest. His family did not at all approve of the marriage, says a friend of Bryants.
Kobes friends say race was small part of the familys problem: Kobes wife, Vanessa, is half Hispanic and half white. But mostly they thought she had too much control over him and that he was way too wrapped up in her, the friend says. He didnt even get a prenup.
Note: his parents would not attend his wedding.
To: Smogger
all the girl can say That is not all she could say.
Can we agree that your wife, daughter, or grandaughter can look forward to the same level of support from you in a similar rape ?
To: af_vet_1981
If the family did not approve of his marriage I'd say that's their problem. As for why they were worried about his wife's influence I'd say they were worried about their cut of his $$$.
