WE'VE ALL BEEN HOSED BY THE N.O.W. GANG: Why I Feel Sorry for Kobe

Posted on 07/18/2003 6:47:40 PM PDT by Cinnamon Girl

It's the whole "NO MEANS NO" brainwashing Gen X Y and Z have been receiving since we were in kindergarten. "NO MEANS NO" no matter what position you are in, or how you got yourself there.

Here's what I think happened: this girl went up to Kobe's bedroom in the hotel, like she said. She started having intimate contact with Kobe, they ended up in bed, and while they were in the middle of the act, the girl starts freaking out that she's only 19, Kobe isn't wearing protection, and she doesn't want to get pregnant. So she starts telling him to stop. But at that point, any man in that situation doesn't have a lot of concentration going on in his brain, and Kobe naturally wanted to complete the act, so maybe he restrained her a little.

Afterward, the girl was so upset, she ran to the police or whatever, knowing what she has been taught her whole life: "NO MEANS NO" even if you went up to a guy's room at night, even if you made out with him, even if you got in bed with him and starting doing stuff. "NO MEANS NO!!!"

At what point do we as a society come back to our senses and stop telling our girls that they can do all kinds of seductive things and be in all kinds of private, intimate situations with guys and if the guy starts making moves on her and she decides she doesn't like it all of a sudden, it's all the guy's fault and he needs to go to prison for life?

Give it a rest. Jessss.

A major newspaper, especially one from where Coby plays can easily check the facts regarding when this was reported. I believe it is common knowledge that it was noon the following day.

The fact is, in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. So even if I am basing EVERYTHING on rumors, I still don't apologize for assuming his is innocent.

I am not saying Coby should be president. In politics you can be assumed guilt if there are rumors swirling around ....so Clinton has nothing to do with this.

So give it a rest already, maybe we shouldn't convict just yet.

"If she's not torn up, I'd believe Kobe. My wife works as a nurse and she's seen rape victims and rape claimers and says you she tell the difference"

Really? How about this scenario? Man walks up to your wife. I have a gun, I'm going to rape you and if you resist or try to get away I will kill you. How many bruises is your wife going to have?

"Kobe checks in, and checks out hot blonde at front desk. Kobe calls to front desk and askes for {toothbrush, extra towel, comb, extra shampoo...} girl goes to room, Kobe asks her in and rapes her"

Oh, BINGO. This is almost word for word what I said to my mother at 5:31 pm this evening as they announced he was being charged.

"after a finals game, Magic came up behind and hugged Isaiah, the smile on the Piston guards face, was very revealing.....like a lover, not a friend or a competitor after a hard fought game no less"

Off topic, but..I love the Pacers. I HATE Isiaah Thomas. His squeaky high queer voice drives me nuts. I don't care that he has a wife, I think he's gay. Anyway, he's a TERRIBLE coach and I'm now praying that with Larry back in the organization, he can turn on some lights in Donald Walsh's and the Simons' heads and get rid of this MORON.

"In this case the deep pockets of the State Prosecutor will not equal the massive amounts of cash that Kobe Bryant and his PR team will throw at defense attorneys, State medical examiners (OJ had 2! Lee-CT & ?-NYS), and DNA labs."

However...this is going to be tried in a small rural community and the prosecutor and jurists don't have to worry about race riots in there town IF they convict him.
That's why OJ's prosecutors lost. They should have moved the trial venue far, far away from LA. The only reason he got acquitted was the jurors fear of a repeat of the Rodney King riots.

The problem with that is the far reach of the media

It wasn't the media that rioted. It was the IDIOTS in LA where the trial was held.
If they had moved OJ's trial 1000 miles away to a small town, he would have been convicted.

the riots would've been avoided if the media wasn't in the court room. this is an inherent problem when you allow such a volitile case to be publicised

Riight. Several police are acquitted after beating a man half to death, and there would have been no riots if only the media hadn't been in the courtroom. NOT. The verdict would still have been announced and the riots would still have happened.

Kobe can run for President when he is 35 now.

Historical precedent already.

yes it would have been anounced but the step by step presentation of the evidence brought to the public by the press allowed the public to form an opinion....the riots were wrong the public being pissed was righteous and should have taken a different route other than blind rage

What exactly is the %age for Magic to go on national TV and say he has killer AIDS if he does not?

Not exactly a resume enhancer.

Would you?

I totally agree with everything you say here. I just think you aren't understanding my point with the change of venue. Since they had OJ's trial in the same place as the police trial, I think the jurors were afraid of a repeat of the riots if they convicted. If OJ's trial had been moved to a small town, the jurors would not have feared riots and would have convicted. Because I believe all across America the people in small towns believed he was guilty and would NOT have rioted over the verdict. The LA morons might still have rioted in LA, but the small town wouldn't have cared about that.

Gotta get 100% of the jury in all criminal cases.

Not so in civil lawsuits.

If he or any minority is tried in the Bronx, over 70% walk, even for rape or murder.

Whitey McSixpak will go down in flames and get max time in the Bronx.

Just one pro-Kobe (1) juror will let Kobe skate for the gold.

Rural small town notwithstanding.

Kobe picked a hispanic bride.

We live in a O"Connor/Breyer "diversity" nation now.

After the last LBJ 30+ years:

For at least the 25 years until the Constitution and 14th Ammendment kicks back in again.

-- Justice Sandra Day O'Conjob

God help all of our kids and grandkids!

My dollars will be rationed very carefully from now on. Attitude not a resume enhancer for vendors.

There's been no proof that Magic contracted HIV from a female encounter. I always felt it more probable he got it from some type of drug usage.

No proof? What proof could there be? He has claimed he contracted AIDS by having unprotected sex with women. I'll take him at his word.

When Kobe said it was adultery, between him and God... i lost it. was too clintonesque for me. made me immediately believe he is dirt and guilty.

Kobe is guilty of some stupidity no matter what. The woman is just as guilty and probably deserves absolutely nothing.
