Homosexuality is the main cause and vector in aquiring HIV which turns into AIDS and ARC. This is not true globally.
This is a big burden for the taxpayers, they go on SSI and must take thousands of dollars worth of drugs per month, they need constant medical care where they come down with many infectious diseases and affordable housing with visiting nursing services and ultimately hospital and hospice care.
Yes, this is a big problem. But we need to be fighting socialism and the nanny state -- not the freedom of consenting adults to do what they want.
Seriously, all this moralizing from religious conservatives is proving to be a huge distraction from creeping socialism, and a very convenient one from the socialists' point of view. All they need to do is get a court decision here or propose legislation there, to keep government out of the personal affairs of consenting adults, and the "conservatives" will reliably take off on a wild goose chase to "save the nation from immorality", while the socialists proceed unhindered to pass laws confiscating hard-working people's money for redistribution to irresponsible people who don't like the results of their free choices.

Who said I live in Vermont? Wrong by several hundred miles. I went to college in Vermont. A military college, where I became a LT. Duh.
Jumping to conclusions based on superfical issues will get you burned.

I agree that it deviates from the "norm." I, myself, dont find it attractive at all. In fact, I find it disgusting. But who the heck am I to judge what goes on in someone's bedroom.
I detest anyone parading their sexuality on the street...straight, gay, or whatever.
The part that gets me so frustrated is that in my business I have had occasion to meet and work with many, many gay men who have been in long term, dedicated relationships. They are good men. They just live differently from me. They don't like little boys, and they would never come on to a straight guy.
I dont understand why these people who have been together longer than I have been married (17 years) cannot share the same benefits (and legal ties) that I share with my partner.

Homosexuality is a chracter and behavior disorder. Recruiting works especially on teens in their early years when they're most vulnerable.Absolutly right on both counts.

Thanks for trying to define marriage as everything until it means nothing. If you're not from Vermont, you should be.

Assuming you are a male, referring to your "wife" as a female (and I only mention this because your screen name references Vermont), your behavior would make you a heterosexual, pursing your natural sexual preference or orientation. The choice of orifice within the confines of male-female marraige is irrelevant in regards to sexual preference & "orientation".

If I typed "anal sex" into Google, I'd see more crap than a day care worker taking care of ten babies. In all the studies I've seen the percentages of heterosexuals that engage in the SAME type of sexual perversions that homosexuals COMMONLY engage in is very small.

Ah, I can argue this point a bit but I won't let's just say that in Africa there are no sophisticated tests being used to diagnose the virus; who knows what is really killing them.
all this moralizing from religious conservatives is proving to be a huge distraction>>>
No, not really, if you read the federalist papers, letters and other documents, and the backgrounds of our fore fathers you will see that America and for all of which it stands, was based and formed on Christian Principals by Christians. They would never have known what kind of moral decay America is in today and if they knew, they would have done more to prevent it.
God have mercy on us all.

The norming of homosexuality takes it out of the "privacy" of a bedroom. It puts homosexuality into classroom discussions, entertainment programs, and office environments.
"Privacy of the bedroom" is just a cover statement. They don't seem to be as much for pushing for the acceptance of all behavior that happens at home between consenting adults. The drug warriors, prostitution fans, incestuous admirers, polygamy supporters, etc. have to fight their own battles. The sodomites are on their way to being a uniquely protected class of individual. Persons who consider a sex act a unique trait like race, sex, or religion.

I dont understand why these people who have been together longer than I have been married (17 years) cannot share the same benefits (and legal ties) that I share with my partner. Some companies already offer same sex live-in partner benefits (unmarried people who are of the same sex enjoy this benefit while unmarried people who are of complimentary sexes do not).
Some homosexuals have said that they do not fully support same sex marriage being legalized because they feel that there would be a backlash agains the promiscuous lifestyle of some homosexuals. After all, if marriage is suddenly a legal option why are some homosexuals still "slutting" it up? Yes there are heterosexuals who have unmarried relationships and live-in relationships. The homosexual community has expressed some reservation to "settling down" though.
The attack on the institution of marriage is just another attack on the institution of the nuclear family (2 parents of different sexes raising a child).

You cannot make a distinction between the legal state of marriage and the religious state. I think the biggest mistake the gay community has made is to call it "marraige." By definition, marraige is between a man, a woman and God. You will not get an argument from me on that.
What I am for is the legal definition of a contractual obligation between two people. Why shouldnt they be able to enter into the same state--from a legal perspective--to transfer property, AND be legally bound to each other until the contract is dissolved.
You guys will never win the legal fight, but you will never lose the moral/religous fight. So my point is why fight over this.

Yes---homosexuality is all about a behavior which people choose to practice....and Pavlov was right--conditioning will determine a person's like or dislike. The homosexual agenda is ultimately the lowering of the age of consent for sex for boys....it has already been done in the progressive(decadent and pagan) European countries so men have legal access to adolescent boys......I say that attraction has to be learned! Many examples exist of homosexuals who have been "recruited" at a very vulnerable age which is easy to document.

Some homosexuals have said that they do not fully support same sex marriage being legalized because they feel that there would be a backlash agains the promiscuous lifestyle of some homosexuals. There was an artilce on FR a few days ago with the headline something about the average relationship (when there is an actual relationship) length between homosexuals is around 1.5 years. And there is overwhelming evidence that even when there is a "monogamous" relationship, especially between men, it almost always includes an understanding that there will be outside sex.
So this whole big deal about marriage is a political ploy for power, it has zilch to do with being married as it has traditionally been understood for thousands of years.

They don't like little boys, and they would never come on to a straight guyYeah, it's so reasonable that ALL the homosexual men you met casually and through work would reveal every pecadillo and illegal act involving younger boys! Of course, I'm sure every single one of them totally revealed his entire sex life to you.

Then let God take care of it. He created the gays, they're his problem. They're his laws, let him enforce them. /sarcasm ---Gcruise Just like God created incest, beastiality and killing sprees? These are human sins against nature and God condemns such actions but they are a choice. Being human, many take part in these sins because thats what humans do.. Ignoring Gods orders is foolish and dangerous. Blaming God for these sins is also foolish and dangerous.
You comments in blue Mr. Smith are true to the bone. I agree 100%.

This from a leftist wacko on my hometown forum website regarding Exodus :
Another one of your sicko organizations. What a pathetic group they are:
"Exodus attracted media attention in 1978 when two of its founders, Gary Cooper and Michael Busee, left the ministry after falling in love with each other. Together they went on the talk show circuit in the early 1990s to tell their story.
"Busee and Cooper repeatedly called ex-gay ministries a fraud that promote homophobia and self-hatred. They told stories of people who went through the Exodus program and had emotional breakdowns or committed suicide. After interacting with hundreds of people, Busee and Cooper said they hadn't met one person who successfully changed their sexual orientation from gay to straight.

To that end, there is a cross-denominational organization that uses common funding, wording, and tactics. In the Episcopal church they call their lobbying group "Integrity," and IIRC it's "Dignity" in the Catholic church. The Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Methodists are all trying to deal with their versions of the same organization. Check out SoulForce as well. They are targeting each denomination at their respective gatherings, including the Southern Baptists.

It is true that Gary Cooper and Michael Busee returned to being homosexuals but the rest of what you say, is false.
For someone like yourself Exodus would be threatening. It works and turns the emotionally confused around by getting to the root of their emotional problems.
Pro gay O'Reilly had an ex"gay" (LOL) guy on his show. He cut him off at every turn. This gentleman is happily married with a family and like others credits Exodus for this permanent life change. Those that CHOSE to remain "gay" are the real "sickos" . Maybe you should check out the Exodus website for their NUMEROUS testimonies on not being emotionally enslaved to same sex, sex. Or would you rather promote negative gay propaganda because you are a miserable "gay" person? Never mind, I really don't want to know. You work out your problem and hatred on your own time.

Oh, I misunderstood. Sorry about that.
Maybe you should refer this leftist wacko to testimonies BY gay people who successfully turned around to a NORMAL heterosexual life. People loved them enough to listen to them and patiently conquer their emotional deficits. Today it's less bother to make up excuses for them and do nothing.
I really admire folks like this that over come evil (homosexuality) with good and set them free from evil. How sad it is that others are so uncaring to allow them to believe homosexuality is normal. Deep down a homosexual knows it is NOT normal.
Here's the link for the testimonies on the Exodus website:
