On Friday, I wrote a piece asking why Freepers don't get more involved in reading and writing blogs to expand Free Republic's influence in a growing medium that needs more conservative, pro-Bush voices. The response was phenomenal.
Click here to read the original thread, "Are Freepers Still Winning the Online War?"
One of the ideas that grew out of that thread was to start a Free Republic Blog Directory, or blogroll, as bloggers call it. From time to time, we will list all Freepers with blogs on threads like this to draw attention to their fine conservative writings. All Free Republic bloggers would then be encouraged to link to each of these sites -- and FreeRepublic.com, building a network and boosting traffic to all of these sites. More Links = More Readers visiting your site.
Here is the list so far of Freeper Bloggers. Click to visit their outstanding sites:
Cathryn Crawford
William McKinley
Regnum Crucis
Michael King
Federal Review
Hank's Blog
Imal
If you run a blog that's not on this list REPLY TO THIS THREAD to be added to the Free Republic Blogroll.
The purpose of this isn't just to promote existing conservative blogs that might get short shrift from many of the dominant libertarian blogs. It's to encourage prolific writers, commentators and other Freepers to start their own blogs so we can expand the conservative, pro-Bush blogosphere.
Visit http://www.blogspot.com to set up your own FREE blog and add yourself to the blogroll today.
OK. Now you're asking, I've got my own blog. How do I link to all these terrific sites? One way is to just copy the link list above directly into the links area in your template and add to it as you become aware of more conservative or Freeper blogs. Another way is to sign up for a free account at Blogrolling.com to manage your list of FR blogs.
Free Republic is the top destination for conservatives on the web, and blogs -- which are getting picked up more and more in the media -- are the next logical step in expanding Freepdom. In fact, you could call this Operation Expanding Freepdom.

I have a new blog about really L-O-N-G term investing, and what's going on in the markets, the economy. (It's not specifically political; I need to get that blog back up and running.) In this blog I generally focus on the good news--what's right about our country, our economy, our system of capitalism. And I'll poke fun at what the financial media and the so-called experts get wrong. It's called The Tao of the Dow; go-with-the-flow investing for the really mellow.
http://thetaoofthedow.blogspot.com Anybody that currently has a blog at blogspot--How do I place other blogs or websites as permanent links on my blog?

Well, we computer geek conservative lovers of the truth haters of the forces of evil certainly enjoy the bloggers (no one has mentioned James Taranto's Best of The Web on www.opinionjournal.com--it is required reading). But how much do you really think it influences the sheeple in the street?

A great blog I just found. Don't know who writes it though. Great article demolishing the Democrats on their WMD complaints.

A blog is pretty useless, and clogs up my browser with stream of consciousness rambling hits on topics where I'm looking for specific info.

(Of course I'm really concerned. I make my face look like this and the concerned words come out.)

You are a brilliant woman, and you would have a great blog. That is my honest opinion.
