Simon's brat-like act against 'sausage' leaves a bad taste

Simon was leaning over the railing of the Pirates dugout between the sixth and seventh innings when the customary sausage race was being contested, with four people in costumes running around the infield warning track. When the Italian sausage (19-year-old Mandy Block) passed Simon, he struck her with a bat, knocking her and the hot dog (a 19-year-old woman) down. The women suffered a few scrapes.

I'll put my sense of humor up against anyones.....anytime, but I fail to see the humor in one person hitting another with a bat. Like everyone else I have seen it over and over again on TV and to me that was NOT a "love tap" as someone on another thread stated. If this had been an average citizens doing this he would be in jail.

Chewer correct. Frankly, a little spare-ribbing never left anyone for the wurst or gave them grounds for beefing, though some people never loin.
