You may not know: Bob Graham, 'rat running for President, has now weasled his way into the sponsorship for a NASCAR truck that is part of the ROUSH RACING team. The web site above is the URL for Roush Racing, and below is the address for the truck driving team that is going to have Bob Grayed Ham's name plastered all over their vehicle.

NASCAR fans aren't too keen on Democrat clowns, and perhaps NASCAR fans may want to express their opinions to Roush. Here is the address:

Graham is probably being advised from some clowns from liberal Gov. Mark Warner's (VA) group. Warner sponsored a NASCAR car(part of his "rural strategy") to get close to rural voters as a Democrat.

It worked, he now rules VA as our DO NOTHING DEM Governor.

The company (Roush) started by Jack Roush, has been involved in just about every kind of racing there is and builds excellent motors.

I'm a road race guy who finds it hard to take NASCAR too seriously any more, but even I've heard of Jack Roush (and I know guys who have bought stuff from his company and had his guys build motors).

And... this Craftsman truck racing is like the NASCAR minor leagues. Up and coming drivers, but if that's the best that Graham can do as a sponsor, he might as well take out a billboard that says BOB GRAHAM: MINOR LEAGUE CANDIDATE.

Not sure just saw something on Speedvision about the truck Graham sponsored winning their inaugural race under the new sponsor. Don't know when it happened though

I believe Roush Racing had lost a sponsor for this truck team and it is VERY expensive to field a competitive race team. (Around $15 million for a NASCAR team. I would imagine a truck team is somewhat less, but still very expensive.)Perhaps they just needed a short team sponsor (I think I read somewhere Graham's sponsorship was just a 2 race agreement.)

Anyway, Roush had built racing engines that have won the Indy 500, endurance races, sports car races, and of course NASCAR. He (Roush Racing) is also in charge of the engine for the new Ford GT Supercar.

For those of you interested, Roush also modifies new Ford Mustangs. (Similiar to what the great Carroll Shelby did on the 1965 - 1970 Mustangs, and what Steve Saleen is doing now.) Check out RoushPref.com (My next car will be a Roush Mustang. I'm looking at a black 380R as we speak.)

Anyway, Jack Roush is a very interesting guy. Perhaps he just needed a quick sponsor and needed the money. (If I remember correctly, didn't Andrew Dice Clay have a little poem about a little boy who needed the money ? LOL)

P.S. For those of you knocking NASCAR racing, be careful. It is only the fastest growing sport and has been for the last several years. (Also, I'm an investment advisor and have an M.B.A., so I'm not a stereotyped "dumb redneck".)

Also, when the late Jimmy Clark won the Indy 500, his pit crew was from NASCAR. (The Wood Brothers). Colin Chapman and his Lotus team wanted the best crew and they got the best !!

I looked at the Roush crate engine myself for my '95. Ended up having one built for about the same price but looking at their website I can see the builder used a different cam

Wood battles from rear of field to take first win

KANSAS CITY -- Jon Wood rolled to his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory in his 48th start despite surrendering his third starting position to a pre-qualifying engine change.

Wood, driving the No. 50 Bob Graham For President Ford, led 67 of the 250.5 mile race's 167 laps, taking over for good on the 140th circuit when Brendan Gaughan dove down pit road for a green flag fuel stop.

Wood then held off Roush Racing partner Carl Edwards to win by 1.176 seconds at an average speed of 114.253 seconds.

He won $49,050.

The victory was the 29th in series competition by a Roush truck - breaking a most-races-won mark shared with Ultra Motorsports.

The team's last win, by Greg Biffle, came on Oct. 26, 2001 at Phoenix International Raceway.

John Monsam, the winning crew chief (and at Kansas Speedway in 2002 with Mike Bliss) set a series record by winning with his fifth different driver.

Dennis Setzer finished third in the ACXIOM/Computer Associates Chevrolet, slipping past Travis Kvapil's IWX Motor Freight Chevrolet with six laps to go.

Robert Pressley took sixth in the Harris Trucking Dodge.

Kvapil - driving last year's championship truck - took the series points lead for the first time by a 1,529 to 1,523 margin over Gaughan, who finished ninth.

There were 12 lead changes among eight drivers. Eight cautions consumed 34 laps - both highs for the series at Kansas Speedway.
