Hillary bedeviled by protesters

Protesters have become a regular feature at book signings by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), but so far, according to Clinton's publisher, Simon & Schuster, they haven't hurt sales.
Now Clinton may have another problem that could: conservative blonde nemesis Ann Coulter and her new bestseller, Treason.
Living History, Clinton's book, continues to do a brisk business, yet by the beginning of the week Coulter's anti-liberal tome had buried it on Amazon's nonfiction bestseller list. Treason started the week in the No. 1 spot, while Living History had fallen out of the top 10.
Unfazed, Clinton has kept a heavy schedule of appearances. By her estimate, she's signed 10,000 copies of her memoirs.
"I try to look at people," she told Newsday. "I give [them] five or six or seven seconds to say something. Some are tongue-tied, some have a whole speech prepared, some give me letters."
Considering the number of protesters she attracts, Clinton said, she's surprised she hasn't received more negative comments at book signings. For security reasons Simon & Schuster has never posted her appearances on its website.
"One man in a devil's costume . . .has been following me for three years," Clinton said.
The devil didnt show a week ago when she signed books at a store in Huntington, N.Y., but there was a guy dressed in desert fatigues and a Hillary mask calling himself "Rodham Hussein."

Living History, Clinton's book, continues to do a brisk business I don't believe this. It fell out of the top 10, and every bookstore I go into (in Boston, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and Atlanta in the past two weeks) has a nice, seemingly untouched display of this book. I never see anyone looking at it, carrying it, or buying it.
And it seems to be half price at many bargain bins. Selling briskly, my patootie.

I found Treason yesterday at BJ's Wholesale Club for around $15.00. Hillary's Lying History was on a corner and I put books on each stack of them that I retrieved from the shelves around them. Then I found Treason. Someone had done the same thing to Ann's book so I took them off an made sure Ann's book was in plain sight. Looks like Hillary had a lot of books left but there were quite a few of Ann's as well. So, CNYers, you can get the book at BJ's!

Did anybody notice that Richard Cohen, the ultra liberal Columnist for the the WashPost, did a hit job on Ann's new book yesterday. When the libs start criticising her you know the book has hit a raw nerve. I hope more libs knock her book. That means they are feeling the sting . . . More sales for Coulter too. A letter to the editor in the Arizona Republic this morning:
Far-out? I'll buy one!
Jul. 2, 2003 12:00 AM Thanks to The Republic for the opinion article "Crazy lady of the far-out right" on Tuesday by Richard Cohen of the Washington Post.
Having listened to Ann Coulter on (horrors) talk radio, I have concluded that she is articulate and loaded with facts and common sense.
I had never read any of her books. But any work so viciously attacked by a representative of the left would have to be a valuable and enjoyable read.
I'm purchasing my copy today. - Doyle Perry. Phoenix

What's funny is that FReepers have kept up the devil costume at most of the FReeps. We hope to keep it up at ours as well. Budge's nephew is giving us access to the wardrobe of the local theater, so it's hard telling what we might come up with. Parsifal and I are going to browse for masks this afternoon. We are thinking of using some of the same ideas as they did at the Pasadena FReep....Monica and Bill anyway. Wonder if Hillary's having FReeper nightmares yet.

"For security reasons Simon & Schuster has never posted her appearances on its website." That's interesting because somebody had published the schedule. It is no longer on the web site that FR got it from, but never fear, it IS on FR!

...This week the same CHRIS MATTHEWS who stopped the airing of JUANITTA BRODDERICK's taped interview on his 'HARDBALL' TV Show during CLINTON's Impeachment Proceedings in Congress...
...just blasted away at his TV Guest ANN COULTER for calling his Democrat Party TREASONOUS. Wouldn't let her get a word in edgewise and ended the interview with:
"ANN COULTER, she's a real 'Sweetheart' who called her last book 'SLANDER.' ...Perhaps she should call her new Book 'SLANDER' also..!!!"
...Who needs CHRIS MATTHEWS' cellar dwelling "HARDBALL" anymore, anyway..?
...From now on, MSNBC's "SCARBOROUGH COUNTRY' ends and I'm outta there.

Living History is piggy-backing off of the new Harry Potter book as we speak. Go to Amazon and check it out. They are offerring the both of them for $34.97 I believe. I bet Anne (the real blonde) doesn't get that sort of opportunity to help sell her book. Ahh but if your Ms Coulter, who needs Harry Potter?

Living History, Clinton's book, continues to do a brisk business..... Maybe that is due to the fact that Hillary's book has been discounted up to 30% and maybe even more !! "Treason" wasn't on 'sale' when I bought my copy.

I guess she was telling the truth on LKL when she said she doesn't read the papers
