Iranians want the USA to invade, why they dont invade?

Posted on 06/28/2003 1:19:00 AM PDT by Khashayar

There is a big question while the protests and opposes rised in Iran last week, Why the USA which is next to Iranian borders, dont come in to support or in other words why we Iranians do not see any effective behavior from the US officials. Me, as a citizen of any other country , do not like to see my country to be invaded or collapsed but the real fact in Iran is that the mullahs will not go or over thrown with out any military intervention or support from a powerful source. This is what you can hear in Iran now, I think those men in the Pentagon or the white house should take a decision fast. Are they taking care of the fate of the Iranians? So They have to be more responsible as well. We do not need just words, we need action. The great help America can give us now is to support us more and more not just by words but by actions. Please do something!

You must have me confused with someone else. I'm not yelling at you either. Congratulate you for enlisting, and totally agree with the 1st Iraq war situation and this past March being a continuation of that one. My cousin was an airforce f-15 pilot in the 1st and flew a number or sorties. Nuking Afghanistan is a bit overboard.
What I recall is saying that there was NEVER support for Afghanistan before 9/11. One reason being, that no one (but Amnesty Int'l) cared enough about what was going on there. Which is one of my major points. If the word doesn't get out in the media, ie: Rwanda, then horrific things can occur unnoticed by the rest of the world. It's too late after they've already occurred.
Should we do something about the Congo, Sudan, zimbabwe, YES. Do I think we're stretched too thin, Yes. Am I getting tired of hearing about American soldiers dying every day in N.Iraq? YES. Do I think we should send ships & soldiers back to the gulf, and stop messing around with these Iraqis in the north and just take them out, yes. Would getting rid of these murderers and thugs in the north make our job easier and maybe free up some military for sending elsewhere? I think so.
I'm not arguing AGAINST helping the Iranians because I want their message to get out. I want the media to grab onto this story and not let go (like they have the Peterson case and the windshield case). I want people to hear about it every morning, noon, and night. And then I want Bush to go on T.V. and tell the Mullahs that the world is watching them.; that the U.S. supports the demonstrators, and we will(because after watching for a week or 2 the American public will be convinced it's right) come to their aid if need be. Put the scare in them first. Stay out, see what happens. Try to get the Iranian people as involved as possible first. A massive uprising in stead of the hundreds or possibly a thousand now. If guns are necessary later, okay.
As I stated, NO UN debates. That's a waste of time. We agree.

Helloooo -- did you forget that President Bush listed Iran as one of 3 countries of the "Axis of Evil"?

Obviously he did that for a reason, because Iran IS a threat to us, because of their support of terrorism and develpment of WMD.

Some even say there is a connection between the 9-11 attacks and the Iranian government.

Does anyone REALLY believe that we come ,in tip over the old regime, recieve the thanks and gratitude of the Iranians and come home? Did we ever do it in Europe? Asia? anywhere? Until the Muslim world grows the ***k up and takes resposiblity for ANYTHING that goes on in its home or back yard we should stay out. They are like spoiled rich kids who blame Dad for everything, blame Dad when it goes wrong and cry for Dad to fix any jams they get themselves into.Repeat cycle endlessly.Time to grow up allah fans. I'd personally pack my sons off to Canada rather see them nation build in that hell hole region. Our role should be kill those who threaten us and come home.Send us the bill for the damage, but all the "freedom" of the ME isn't worth the life of kid from Georgia...

exactly like the ones used by Iranian Police and military forces.

This way, no tie to America can be proven

Additionally, any ammunition captured will be interchangeable.

We need to help the Iranian people in self defense: we need to topple the Iranian regime, because they support terrorists and are trying to develop WMD. Iran was put on the Axis of Evil list for a reason.

What I recall is saying that there was NEVER support for Afghanistan before 9/11.

Well, let me jog your memory a little bit. This is from your post number 65:

But as word FINALLY started reaching "the outside" about what was happpening under Taliban rule, the idea of going in a getting rid of them, grew in support.

I reviewed all your other posts and you don't contradict this anywhere. Perhaps I am misunderstanding you here but this is distinctly referring to pre 9/11 Afhganistan and the effect that reporting on the situation can have. The support that came after 9/11 had nothing to do with the evils of the Taliban becoming known to the public. It had to do with the fact that Afghanistan was where the bastards that killed Americans were living.

It's too late after they've already occurred.

You noticed that too huh? Well, if the Iranian students don't get their hands on some guns pretty soon, it might be too late for them as well.

Should we do something about the Congo, Sudan, zimbabwe, YES.

With what? And how? And at what cost?

I want the media to grab onto this story and not let go

That's fair enough.

Put the scare in them first. Stay out, see what happens.

Why not arm the Iranian opposition and let them put the scare into the mullahs? It's their country after all. See what happens sounds kinda like "poke it with a stick and see what happens". The Iranian people need a little bit more than political voyeurism in my opinion.

I'm all for sending you weapons.

And our government should stage covert attacks on your leaders infrastructure. Knock out communications, etc.

Now as far as supplying weapons, we don't need our government to do that. There are enough floating around the mideast to do the job nicely.

Not in the right hands, there aren't.

You are misunderstanding.
In the African nations, since rampant out & out slaughter is going on, armed forces are definitely necessary. Again, media coverage is essential beforehand along with a stern warning that we're coming in if it doesn't stop. One nation at a time. At what cost? I don't know. $ - I don't know. American lives? - depends on how committed to the cause we are as a nation.
As for the rest, I've been following the LIVE IRAN THREAD for the past week or more. DrZin has the info you're looking for. Try reading his post, this thread #91 (I believe) He explains why it's important not to rush guns into this until they're ready. Maybe his explanation will make things clearer. Enjoyed the chat.

Not in the right hands, there aren't.

I think Ollie North could shed some light on that discussion :-)

And no one here has mentioned our dependence on the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution yet. If Iran had one, it would put a huge crimp in their mullahs activities and we wouldn't have to play "cop".

No harm, no foul.

Like I told somebody yesterday, these are only words flying back and forth here- not bullets. At the end of the day, nobody's hurt and we all come back for more.

Cheers.

Actually, I would prefer it if the Iranians would be given organizational support and weapons, and we don't set foot in there with any official troops. We could even send in air support. The point is to take down any regime that halps terrorism. Not only does it help us, but it also gives the Iranians a new chance at freedom. The students try to respect all religions, seem to have very good organizational capabilities, and they frequently reach out to the US. We might, however, at some point need to have raid to rescue political prisoners, which will more than likely increase in numbers soon.

Thank you for the information. That just about sums it up. We should help your country, and the longer we wait, IMHO, the more innocent lives will be lost and even tortured.

Please, try to stay safe, and try to be as patient as you can. It might take months or even years to convince enough people that we should help. People will die, but like I said before, we are too busy wasting money out here in the US and being bogged down by leftists more concerned about insects, fish, trees, legalized sodomy, and political games than human beings, to be able to help you right away. The people on this forum are doing a lot to fight those leftists politically, but the leftists have a few perverse and naive rich people that keep propping them up. It's not easy to defeat them.

Sad FReegards....
