California tremors

A political earthquake is shaking the ground in California. Its tremors could extend across the nation, influencing next year's presidential election, and changing the national debate about government spending.

If there is a recall election, the odds are Mr. Davis will lose it. A recent poll indicated 51 percent of Californians support the recall effort, a number likely to grow if it actually qualifies for the ballot.

If Davis resigns, that would make former Mecha member Cruz Bustamante the new governor. Somehow, I think that might even be worse than Davis, especially since any criticism of him would be smeared with the standard racism chant, even when pointing out he used to belong to a racial separatist organization.

Maybe, maybe not. Davis still has a chance at winning the recall, and he reportedly doesn't like Bustamante. There's also the following section in the California Elections Code, which suffers from various interpretations of the word "filed":

11302. If a vacancy occurs in an office after a recall petition is filed against the vacating officer, the recall election shall nevertheless proceed. The vacancy shall be filled as provided by law, but any person appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office only until a successor is selected in accordance with Article 4 (commencing with Section 11360) or Article 5 (commencing with Section 11380), and the successor qualifies for that office.

Regardless of what happens, this story is going to be at least as much fun as the Texas Rat legislators who fled to the Holiday Inn in Ardmore.

The Rat party is really on the ropes in a lot of places, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving lot.

Will the Terminator have the guts to bring on the fire and brimstone of spending cessation, of excruciating pain of jobless Rats who formerlly worked for the state, of mass roundups of Mexican sponges, of street sweeps of homless fund suckers.

The new governor muswt be yawaah like in his retribution and eradicator of the sin of over spending.

It will require the strongest politician who ever touched the reins of the government. The people will bow to strength but will kill for weakness.

That would just about complete Mexifornia's annexation to Mexico. As you well know, MeCHA is at the forefront of the "reconquista" movements that seek to take over the Southwest and have it become a part of Mexico, or at least answerable to Mexico as a mexican territory. MeCHA and its ilk have been very open about their goals. Mexifornia will cease to be a part of the U.S., in any real sense, if Bustamente becomes governor. You will also see a mass exodus OUT of Mexifornia, which will further devestate its already bankrupt economy. We will see the corruption that is so prevalent in Mexico take firm hold in Sacramento.

Mr. Davis will raise a ton of money to fight for his job. Other Democratic contenders will be soliciting funds, too, emptying wallets that might otherwise open for those seeking to oust Mr. Bush.

And if Mr. Schwarzenegger wins, his inauguration would take place about the time the Democratic presidential primaries begin, diverting attention from them.
