Is it acceptable to marry a girl who has not yet started her menses? (Islam)

Question:

I have not yet reached the age of puberty. Is it correct that a girl could get married before her menses start, or is that just a traditional myth?.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

Marriage to a young girl before she reaches puberty is permissible according to sharee’ah, and it was narrated that there was scholarly consensus on this point.

1 – Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the ‘Iddah (prescribed period), if you have doubt (about their periods), is three months; and for those who have no courses [(i.e. they are still immature) their ‘Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise”

[al-Talaaq 65:4]

In this verse we see that Allaah states that for those who do not menstruate – because they are young and have not yet reached the age of puberty – the ‘iddah in the case of divorce is three months. This clearly indicates that it is permissible for a young girl who has not started her periods to marry.

The girl was less of an angel and more of a example of the "vitality" of Mohammed.

Then I guess in that sense, the "vitality" of Mohammed would have to be matched against the guaranteed purity of a very young girl.

If we look again at the history lesson in #16, it sounds much more like a classic "state marriage" arrangement, and that the subsequent spin was added on after Mohammed's death.

Some who want a same sex marriage are considering trips to Canada to make it "legal". A trip to Saudi Arabia wouldn't make this any more legal.

Diversity of cultures must still comply with our own nation's laws. We can't do anything about those who would move to another country to live but we do have a say about those who would come here to live.

ANSWER:Islam has ordered us Muslims to fight against the enemies of Islam and not be like the Jew and make other nations fight their wars. We as Muslims may share in Hitlers hatered for the Jews but we cannot praise him for the manner in which he went about killing the jews (if the history books are correct). But rather we as Muslims are governed by the Shariah which prohibit the killing the old and the weak etc.

A structural thing, IOW -- the shaft did not buckle when subjected to a certain axial stress.

And I'll be blunt right back at you: it suggests to me that my initial take was correct -- he couldn't force his old man's erection into the very small vagina of a 6-yo girl, and thus had to wait until she (and her vagina) got larger.

Not according to this Imam, who seems to indicate that achieving the ability to bleed is not a requirement for having sex with a child-wife. Consummation would apparently be contingent on the ability of the husband to penetrate.
