Explain to me the Constitutional basis for the federal government making legal the taking of human life.

Very simple! Dred Scott v. Sanford (1857)

Agreed. Once people taste the nectar of control over other's lives, they can't be talked back down. It takes the political equivalent of electroshock therapy, ie, a revolution, to reset liberty and begin its degradation anew. It was amazing how fast the cycle was at Tienanmen Square.

62 percent for life.
35 percent pro death/anti child
3 percent are so openminded their brains leaked out.

Your definition of freedom includes ripping a little kid's limbs off and dumping him in the trash.

How heroic you must feel.

The uprising in China never got anywhere.

We're still heading that direction. Pretty soon someone else besides the mother will be able to decide which human lives are inconvenient, if human life is not the line we draw in the sand.

Forcing women to take unwanted pregnancies to term doesn't faze you a bit, does it?

Ooops! As you probably figured out for yourselves, that "rip the limbs off" comment was aimed at gcruse, not you guys. Sorry about the friendly fire!

It's up to you to find a constitutional authority for government to tell a woman what to do with her womb.

If someone found out someone was trying to kill themselves, the police will intervene. Go figure. And hey, even the police will try not to oblige if they are being used for the purpose of committing suicide (suicide by cop). I wonder why not? hmm....

Forcing people to take responsibility for their actions? not a problem for me!

It's pretty frustrating to see that even those who are supposed to be on your side are drilling holes in the bottom of the boat.

Forcing people to not drive their cars over guys standing in the street doesn't faze me a bit, either.

Stop and consider this for a moment: You believe this country is only on the right path if a woman can have her child hacked to bits for any reason. In other words, you believe that child murder is part of the American ideal.

Wow, what a hero.

The government of course. Just like China's gov't does. And just like they do every day dictate what we can and cannot do. (laws, duh...!) and we support that as long as the law is good. Roe V Wade is bad law.

The argument is not CHOICE, it is LIFE.

Life always takes precedent over choice in all other areas. I cannot choose to do whatever I want with impunity, if it harms another's life. But try and get a prodeath person to define life and you can't do it. Because if they agree to that line of reasoning, their argument is a house of cards.

IMO a woman should be forced to be a mother at least until the child is born, if a man can be forced to be a father and pay child support for 18 years. The decision should always place the convenience of the people involved WAY behind the importance of the life of the child.

I voted and am pleased with the results, however, I highly doubt Roe V Wade is ever overturned.

I cannot choose to do whatever I want with impunity, if it harms another's life

Not only that, I can't even do something that might endanger someone else's life (speed in my car, go through a stop light if no one else is coming, etc...). Heck, I can't even say something that might offend someone. Yet I can offend the smallest and most helpless voiceless human being, and people hold it up as understandable.

It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. (Luke 17:2)

"A person's a person, no matter how small..."

Some of the greatest truths can be found in children's stories.
