"I am a figment of the imagination."
"I have no profile."

Anyone who knew whoever knows she would NOT like us to be maudlin at her passing. Remember, this is the lady who has told many of us that she longed to look upon the face of the Savior, so she’s blissfully happy. Today, let’s make it a point to remember her and the blessing she was to our lives. Let’s remember her humor, her wisdom, her inspiration.

Do you remember when you first met her? I do. We met in a political chat room back in ‘99. We hit it off right away for many reasons but mostly because of our shared faith. For the next 3 years we were together every day via IM, chat rooms, phone calls. At the time I was 24/7 caregiver for my father, and who was the constant in my life that kept me sane (mostly). Over the next 3 years, we laughed, cried, prayed, fussed and dreamed. We took long “cyber walks” through scenic settings we found online. When Daddy finally passed in September 2001, she was an enormous help to me. I don’t know what I would have done without her.

Would you believe that who almost missed FR? In the chat room where we met, there were a couple of disgruntled former FReepers (you know the type) who had her convinced that FR was the bane of the internet. At my urging, she checked out FR and found it to be delightful, so she registered and began posting on a limited basis. Then she got involved on the Canteen and later the Finest threads and was in her element. Boy, did she enjoy her time on FR!! She enjoyed learning HTML and then sharing what she’d learned with others. She loved the prayer threads and was a faithful prayer warrior. Those of us who chatted with her in our chat room were a little jealous of her time on FR. Once she got involved on FR, we got less of her time. But we decided to be magnanimous and share her with y’all! ;-)

I would like to thank all of you who made her time on FR so enjoyable. This was a woman who thought she might be online for 20-30 minutes a day when she first got her computer! She never dreamed of the treasures the internet would unfold for her.

who’s greatest priority in life was serving the Lord. She was utterly grateful for what He did for her at Calvary and wanted the whole world to receive the grace that was extended to mankind as a result of His sacrifice. She even witnessed her faith to the hospice workers who attended her in her last days. From early on in our relationship, I knew that she couldn’t wait to get to her heavenly home so she could look upon Jesus’ face for the first 100 years. It would be impossible to accurately remember who without extending to all an invitation to know the Lord in the power of His resurrection. For those of us who are His, this goodbye is only temporary. There will be a time of reunion in a place where there are no more goodbyes for all eternity.

To my friend, who: I love you, girlfriend! Thanks for the wonderful memories we stored up over our all-too-brief friendship. Thanks for making me laugh and cry and think. Thanks for being a solid rock when Daddy was so sick and when he finally passed. Thanks for loving my little Chelsey so much. Thanks for your unwavering faith in all the situations we faced. You will be sorely missed, my friend, but not for long. Soon and very soon, we will all be together again. Hallelujah!

Whoever collected pigs, she loved kittens and puppy dogs, and she was always finding cute things (of which The Thin Man often 'borrowed!') to post on the threads. I've gathered some that she was particularly fond of and wanted to post them here as we remember our who. From her friends, these are some of her favorites: (The first one - the empty frame - she absolutely LOVED! It was her portrait.)   :)

2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Hi, Amy - your smiling kitten is precious! It reminds me of one whoever asked me to do 'something' with one time, though now I can't remember if she just found it and sent me the file and asked if I'd upload it or what.

Hi, Julie,

Your post says so much about the kind of person whoever was - she never let anything get between herself and her faith. It was just there - a presence one could almost feel in her posts.

Was late getting the thread posted this morning, too, so it didn't surprise me when you weren't the first one here today. You are now, so we can assume you had a safe trip. :)

...we can assume you had a safe trip.

An interesting trip. It was hot and bumpy. The runway was closed for an overlay, (the reason for the trip was to inspect it) and landings and takeoffs were done from the taxiway.

There are two ways of spreading light:
To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
whoever was both. The world is darker without her.

Thank you, Billie :)

I wished i knew more about this gentle lady.Nonetheless, her grace, modesty and humility were evident, and her tributes and posted mails demonstrate her goodness through and through.

A beautiful tribute for a truly beautiful person.

Though I didn't know who personally, I soon came to learn that her posts on FR would be either delightfully amusing or heartwarmingly inspirational. Each encounter with whoever on FR left me a better person.

Some time ago I came across this poem posted on a memorial thread for someone else. It seems to be what whoever would say to us all.

DON'T CRY FOR ME

Don't cry for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to cry, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace of sunset this day.

Since my parting will leave a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times,
my loved one's touch.

Perhaps to you, my time was all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me home,
He set me free.

What special tributes you posted. I barely knew whoever except when I sent out a distress call during my first attempt to post a picture. Hers was one of my first freepmails. I suspect she is smiling tonight..

Hi Nan....What a fitting tribute to what sounds like a very special lady...I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to know her on this earth. I can strive to meet her in the "beyond"

Hi dutchess. Yes, she was a very special soul. She stood out in the crowd. I think she connected with everyone who read her posts. I received a mail from her some time ago telling me that she was terminal and was looking forward to seeing our Lord. It was a hard thing to hear. We will miss her humor and her wisdom.

God Bless whoever

"He has brought me thus far, I know He is able to do it all.
I just pray that His will be done in my life."

~ whoever ~

The above are words that "who" had written to me. I am Blessed to have known "who". Also, as I was going through my mail, I found this bit of advice from "who" and it put a smile on my face, thank you "who":

"preview", "preview", "preview"

What a beautiful tribute to who. Between you and Diver Dave, I'm going to need an entire box of industrial-strength Kleenex!

"I find myself too sad to do so. I know *who* will understand."

Yes LOUIE, "who" understands, that I am sure of. Hang in there LOUIE.

Thank You LOUIE for all the awesome graphics you shared in this lovely tribute to your dear friend "who". I remember one time way back when, I posted to "whoever" that sometimes I say "whatever"...and we went back and forth about that, a bit of a comedy routine.
